This file cabinet is very heavy—over 100 pounds—so be prepared for that right from the start. I opened the box, removed all the pieces, and carried everything up to the location where the cabinet would permanently live before beginning assembly. From start to finish, the process took me about three hours. I’m a 58-year-old woman who genuinely enjoys putting things together, and overall I found the instructions to be mostly clear. There were a few steps that could have used better clarification, so I read the instructions very carefully and revisited certain sections multiple times. Taking my time made a big difference, and patience is definitely key with this build. That said, the design itself is very intuitive and makes it nearly impossible to assemble the cabinet in the wrong orientation, which was reassuring throughout the process. Once assembled, I’m extremely satisfied with the cabinet. It’s well-made, sturdy, and thoughtfully designed. Files fit both horizontally and laterally, which is a huge plus. I attached the cabinet to the wall, which I would strongly encourage for safety and stability. Overall, this is a solid, high-quality file cabinet, and I would absolutely recommend it—especially if you’re comfortable with careful assembly and taking your time.

I had a high need for a new file cabinet - the one I had was no longer suiting my needs, was of a cheap quality, and one of the drawers had broken. I did a bit of research on Amazon and came across this lovely specimen. After reading a few reviews I took the plunge and am incredibly happy with it. There was lots and lots of styrofoam in the packaging but it did it's job and there was no damage to the parts at all. Like others have mentioned in other reviews, I would *strongly* recommend using a *fully charged* power screwdriver. Some of the screws are hard to get started without that extra "oomph". While the assembly instructions are easy to follow, my power screwdriver ran out of juice halfway through the job, and it took me probably a half hour longer than it could have to finish. And oh yeah, like the video says, after inserting the drawers, be sure to press down on each corner until it is firmly in place. When all was said and done though, I was EXTREMELY happy with the end result. It looks clean, simple, and professional, and fit perfectly where I needed it to go. Yeah, sure it won't withstand a fire, etc. but it's solid enough for my home office needs. Highly recomended!

I recently purchased this item and only received partial shipment. Apparently the cabinet comes in two boxes. I only received box 1 of 2. From what I've received so far I believe the product is of sufficient quality and will satisfy my needs. Once the order is complete and I have the opportunity to assemble and use the cabinet I will adjust my rating. Update - All is well, the other box arrived a few days later. I've assembled the cabinet and am pleasantly surprised by the quality of the product. This will work well for my application. The product was a little difficult and time consuming to assemble but difficulties were not insurmountable. Parts could have been labeled better and instructions could have been a bit clearer but not bad overall.

My box arrived with one corner banged up, but the product inside didn't have a scratch on it. It was very well packaged. Assembling it was very straight forward. I was able to put it together by myself. I purchased the 3-drawer model and it is going to provide me with plenty of storage space. The drawers slide very smoothly and only one drawer can be opened at a time to prevent it from tipping over. For where I placed mine I could not secure it to a wall. I would definitely recommend this model to anyone looking for a good sturdy filing cabinet.

This product was quite easy to assemble. When I got to the drawers part is where I had the most issues. The drawers did not close properly so I did some troubleshooting and looked at other videos. One particular video helped me. When I pressed down in the inside of the four corners of drawers and in middle as well. Do With a lot of force you should hear it go down. Also, I reached down in the inside of the bottom back and pushed in on the back end and Wow it worked perfectly. It looks great and no issues… I saw a lot of the reviews and I want to say it’s time consuming with the drawers but if you do what I said and have a little patience it’s worth your money and time…

We bought the 3-drawer filing cabinet. Easy to follow instructions until the drawers would not align. However after reading the review labeled don’t get frustrated. A bit of brute force the drawers snapped into place and it is perfect!!! We did have to use the drill however as the screws were sometimes difficult to screw in. Great size, flush drawers and happy with my new filing cabinet!

Comes packeaged very well. Instructions are simple and easy to follow until the end of the assemply. The outer carcass went together very well. The drawers, which you assemble last. took a moment or two to figure out because the drawing and instructions were a bit hard to follow. The big problem came when putting the drawers in the carcass. The drawers don't fit so, the drawers don't close properly and if you jostle the cabinet a little too much trying to get the drawer to open because it sticks, the locking mechanism engages and you have to use the key to disengage the lock while trying to get the drawer to pull out. the top drawer is the most problematic. I'd rather return it to get something of better quality but it's already assembled (mostly) and I'd never be able to get it repackaged like it was when I received it so, I guess this a matter of getting what you pay for.

Four drawer 36 inch lateral file cabinet. Pretty good all around, but I had three issues. First, some of the parts were bent slightly in shipping, but were readily bent back into working shape. Second, the screwdriver was woefully inadequate. I recommend using a right angle ratcheting driver for many screws near the edges. Most importantly -- there is supposed to be an interlock which prevents more than one drawer from being open at a time. This did not work. I can open all of them in any combination. If this is important to you, please look elsewhere! The supplier has promised me replacement parts that may fix the problem. If it is fixed, I will update this review. Update: The replacement parts corrected the non-tip interlock issue. I have added a star to my review! Clearly the wrong parts were installed on my unit. I advise looking for this problem.
