Tineco CARPET ONE Smart Carpet Cleaner Machine, Lightweight Carpet Shampooer and Portable Upholstery Cleaner with LED Display, Pet Carpet Cleaner with Spot Cleaner

I splurged on this product after reading positive reviews here and in another publication, and I am so glad I did! This carpet cleaner is easy to use and doesn’t feel as bulky as it might appear. I’m impressed with how well it cleans my rugs that have old coffee stains and normal wear and tear from young children. Cleaning the actual machine is easy and doesn’t feel like a chore. This product is definitely worth the money.

Wirecutter definitely has this one wrong. We purchased this unit in January 2024 following Wirecutter's recommendation and used it three or four times to clean a single room's wall-to-wall carpet. When it worked, it did a decent job extracting dirt, pet hair (not picked up by our vacuum), and pet smells from the carpet. Not as well as a professional cleaner but good enough. If cleaned meticulously after each use, I expected it would last for a while (it’s not a Bissell Big Green Machine but I didn’t expect it to be in that level of greatness). Alas, the unit stopped working and the nightmare began. I followed the same steps as before, but the on/off switch was not working. I contacted customer service - on the phone at first but then via email (we're now well over 20 messages into this experience) - and after they determined that I had a valid warranty claim, I had to disassemble and pack the unit (note to buyers: keep original box and packing materials or you'll end up spending your own money to repack it when the inevitable warranty claim happens) and take it to a UPS location. A few weeks went by and we received the “repaired” unit. (1) the handle was so badly damaged that it needed to be replaced, and (2) even with the new handle the unit still did not work. As an aside, we were told the handle was damaged during shipping but after opening the box I couldn’t see how that was even possible given how the individual components were packed. Contacted customer service again and was asked for a video to show the malfunction (a fair request but an additional investment of time) and now… “Following our assessment of the issue with your machine, we have determined that a repair is necessary…” Please indicate your acceptance of the repair plan and we’ll send the 19 steps you need to follow to return it to us. Also, our repair facility is being upgraded so it’ll take longer. May the odds be ever in your favor. Another aside, I think the customer service function is not manned by real humans but instead is AI. It’s all scripted, AI is incrementally almost free for the company, and one of AI's main goals is to make it really hard for buyers to resolve issues in a favorable way. We’ll continue following the rules – they have our $500, we have no other option, and who knows how this saga will end; I will report back to you, my faithful review readers – but I’m preparing myself for disappointment similar in feeling to the end of my first high school romantic relationship and will no longer use Wirecutter for any recommendations over $25 (pre-tariff prices). Run, do not walk, away from this appliance unless you’re into fiscal masochism or like disposable appliances.

We only have a few carpeted rooms in our house, so it's impractical/not cost effective to have a professional carpet cleaning done. As such, I purchased this machine as a way to keep things clean ourselves. Having used Bissel cleaners in the past, I have to say I'm super impressed with this Tineco in terms of ease of use and the feedback from the machine during the process (red for dirty areas, blue when the carpet is clean). The #1 one thing that won me over, though, is the drying feature. Game changer! The worst part of cleaning your carpets is waiting around for them to dry (or getting wet socks as you tip toe across the room 😁). While the carpets weren't completely dry after using this feature, I'd say they were 75% there, which made the overall dry time significantly shorter. There are less expensive machines out there, but as with anything you get what you pay for. Happy we made the investment here.

The best features include its lightweight frame, sleek design, ease of maneuverability, and access points to clean out gunk, hair, or debris buildup. The downside is that the size of the tanks may be too small, resulting in numerous, and frequent trips to refill or empty the reservoirs. My first 2 applications were on an 8x10 rug, and sofa upholstery. While cleaning the rug, I had to refill the water/soap reservoir twice, and empty the dirty water canister twice. I discovered that the dirty water canister opening does not shut when disconnected from the main machine. This resulted in the dirty water spilling back onto the floor in my first few attempts. However, I found that if I flipped the canister upside down right away, that limited the spills. While cleaning the sofa, the upholstery mode and attachment seemed to empty the water reservoirs even faster, resulting in 3 trips to refill and empty while cleaning one seat's section of the sofa. Eventually, I opted to use a scrub brush, with a bucket of soapy water, to continue cleaning the rest of the couch, and only used the upholstery attachment to rinse and vacuum the excess water and dirt. The sofa was quite wet afterwards, and the rug was only slightly damp. When I was finished, the machine was very easy to clean (unlike other models of carpet cleaners I've had). Most of the parts have access points are are completely detachable. I was able to clear out all the debris from each part just by rinsing them in the sink, making it ready for the next use. Despite the slight inconveniences I had, (which may have even been due to user error), I was satisfied with how clean my carpet and upholstery were after the first cleaning. It was very easy to use and maneuver.

I have owned Hoover and Bissel carpet cleaners for years. I have even rented rug doctors. This purchase was the best decision ever! I follow a woman on TikTok who constantly talks about hers so I finally pulled the trigger. It has a sensor to determine how much solution each pass needs on how dirty it is. It also has a dryer setting that blows hot air and has a sensor to tell you how dry it is getting. It’s like being able to blow dry your carpet. My carpet is totally dry within an hour! The craziest part is that I’m always used to get “back” 1/3 of the water I put down. The dirty water tank was full after every full tank of clean water I used. The suction is amazing! And the machine is soooooo easy to clean. Parts that never come apart on other cleaners come apart on this machine…easily. We have a long haired Maine Coon cat and I was able to clean the attachment head easily and the main suction area with ease. I’ve never been able to get that part free from cat hair on other cleaners. It eventually becomes too blocked and loses suction. If you are on the fence about this machine…..buy it!

Do not buy this machine. It broke down (stopped spraying water) after less than an hour of use. Sent it in for repair under warranty, and 5 1/2 weeks later, we still have no machine, and Tineco has ignored requests to escalate the issue. Prior to sending the machine in, Tineco had stated a 3-business-day turnaround, in writing. First, Tineco lost the machine at their service facility (blamed us until we sent the delivery confirmation that was available to them as well, since it was a Tineco-provided shipping label). They apparently didn't find it for 3 weeks, despite saying they had found it. Then, after I followed up since we had no updates, they told us the damage was so extensive that they couldn't repair it and would send us a replacement. No problem from our standpoint; however, they continued to delay. Took 2 days to confirm the address and said they'd ship the machine the same day, then nothing. Followed up 5 days later and requested that the issue be escalated. They ignored the escalation request and sent us a shipping label, which of course had only been printed, and the carrier did not have the package. It just keeps going from there, but essentially, Tineco does everything they can to avoid servicing or returning your machine and only takes action when you contact them (although I question whether any action has been taken). We still don't have a machine and will have to buy a new cleaner (from another company). They're horrible to work with

If you give a family a puppy, then they Need a Tineco Carpet One! We have had countless rug cleaners over the years. They would do an okay job for a limited time. The hoses would end up cracking or leaking. The tank would leak or they were clumsy. The Tineco is fool proof! We have a puppy. Need I say more! He is darling but learning and highly distractible. I delayed opening my Tineco because of past cleaners. I wasn’t too excited to be let down. Finally I broke down…well the rugs were past due for cleaning and I refused to call OxyClean again (I had been having them out every three months at about $200/cleaning). They could never get the stains out. But I felt like I was at least getting the rugs clean! Fast forward to last weekend (and having just had our rugs cleaned about 3 weeks prior). I set up my Tineco. I figured meh…let’s see what it can do. The amount of dirt that came out of our rugs made me so disgusted. I have been paying professionals to do this. A couple of the rooms we don’t even use! So the dirt should have been minimal! We don’t smoke or burn a lot of candles to put the dirt on those things. It was just old left over dirt that the professionals apparently left behind! I will never call a company again! The Tineco was incredibly easy to use! Even easier to clean! It made cleaning our rugs an actual pleasure! Our puppy just may survive through potty training and we might even think about another puppy one day!! Haha! (This puppy is perfectly safe and spoiled rotten as he should be! Heck…he got his own Tineco to cover his a$$) haha Worth Every Penny!!! So easy to use! Effective!!

Bought this product as a recommendation from a friend who bought before Tineco went viral for their cleaners. Since unpacking the dryness sensor is not functional and remains at 0. Additionally, I cannot connect to wifi or the app as advertised and mentioned in the manual. After using once my carpet is definitely cleaner but it’s irritating to be without a gauge for dryness, which was advertised. I contacted the manufacturer and sent it back after one use. All they did was clean it. My cleaner still lacks any functional sensor for dryness and no wifi function. This is very disappointing considering those exact functions were a main reason for my purchase. For the functionality I have, I might as well have bought a cheaper brand because mine does not do all that it advertised. Really not sure what is going on at the repair facility as my concerns were not really addressed and there are not any notes or comments on my repair. Yet, it came back with the same problems in a cheaper box than I sent it in.
