Ray Liotta's character has had enough. He just wants out, so he can enjoy his life woth his loving wife. But getting out isn't all that easy...

Terrific performances from all the leading actors. I always marvel at how they leave their own skin and adopt some gruesome characters. I can't think of any pleasant characters in this story. There didn't seem to be any room for consensus. Is it a portrait of the America of the time, the "Might is Right" mantra? Who knows, but it's a warning of some kind.

Awesome movie! Started watching it with my dad since I was a teenager and I still watch it today

Was soll mann zu diesem Film schon noch groß schreiben, er ist nunmal ein Klassiker. Das Stealbook kommt gut verpackt, der auf dem Bild zu sehende untere Rand ist aus Pappe und nur über das Stealbook gestülpt, also quasi zum wegschmeissen, was ich sehr gut finde hier wurde endlich mal nachgedacht und mann kann das Stealbook ohne irgendwelche FSK Aufkleber auf der Front ins Regal stellen. Zum kann mann ja wie erwähnt nicht mehr viel sagen eben ein Scorsese Film, einfach gut. Das Bild der Blu-ray ist auch Gut wobei jetzt natürlich kein Referenz bild zu erwarten ist aber selbst auf meinem 60zoll LG ist das Bild noch Top.

1990 ist der Film (so wie viele andere auch) komplett an mir vorbeigegangen, weswegen ich ihn nun auf BluRay erstmals gesehen habe. Es war ein spontankauf im Rahmen einer Aktion, und es hat sich mehr als gelohnt. Der Film ist extrem gut. Es gibt Gewalt, Blut, Morde, aber der Fokus liegt mehr auf dem "sonstigen Leben" der Mafiosi und solcher, die gerne dazugehören möchten, jedoch in Ermangelung rein italienischer Abstammung keine Chance haben, in den Kreis der "ehrenwerten Gesellschaft" aufgenommen zu werden. So wie Henry, die Hauptfigur, dessen Vater Ire ist. Basierend auf seiner wahren Lebensgeschichte folg der Film seinem Werdegang zu dem, was er schon mit 13 Jahren sein wollte: Ein richtiger Gangster. Der Zuschauer erlebt durch seine Augen die Faszination, welche die Welt der Gangster auf ihn ausübt - wohlgemerkt, nicht die Welt der Verbrechen an sich, schon gar nicht die des Blutes und der Morde. Henry wird magisch angezogen vom Status, vom Respekt und natürlich auch vom Geld, in keiner Schlange warten zu müssen, stets den besten Tisch zu bekommen und sich alles leisten zu können - das ist sein Traum, den er zielstrebig verfolgt und dann auch lebt. Doch alles hat seinen Preis, was er irgendwann begreifen muss. Die BluRay ist zwar entfernt davon wirklich HD oder gar HD-Referenz zu sein, aber das tut der Sache keinen Abbruch. Das Bild ist gut genug für mich, auch wenn es die DVD vermutlich auch getan hätte.

世界にDVDというものが登場して間もない時期に買った『グッドフェローズ』の円盤は、 表裏に収録されていて、途中で一回円盤を取り出してひっくり返す必要があった それに比べると、本作はひっくり返さなくていい！ それだけで１００点だ それに加えて、サブ音声が楽しい ５０点加えて、 １５０点だよ 劇場公開当時、私はこの作品に１００点満点の３８０点ぐらいをつけたんだけど、 一緒に見に行った１０歳若い女の子は、 「モノローグ多すぎ、ラジオかよ」って言ってた 人によって感想って違うもんだなあ
