They are made of soft rubber (I think), and work very well in the shower. Easy to walk in on wet surfaces, and they dry very quickly. **Q: Are these Non slip bottoms?** A: Yes, the bottoms are non slip. Great arch support. **Q: When reviewers say they run small/ is the length short?** A: They do run a little short in length. My feet are exactly 12" but some shoes and flip flops are tight at 12" and these flip flops fit me just right at size 13. I haven't tried size 12 as when I bought my first pair at Big 5 they only had size 13 but they fit perfectly. I have heal pain issues and I gotta say these flip flops are the best feeling flip flops I have ever purchased. I wear these full time and my heal pain is pretty much no longer an issue. As I mentioned I bought my first pair at Big 5 and after a day or two wearing them I immediately checked out Amazon to see if they had them. They did and were less expensive than Big 5 so I bought another pair. I may buy yet another pair soon just to have the should they stop making them for some reason. I hope they remain available for the future.. So far they appear to be pretty durable too and I have abused mine doing yard work and they are still holding up good... I loathe shoes, and my doctor was tailing against the flip flops I was wearing because they had no support. She referred me to a shoe store in Edmond, Oklahoma that ONLY carries shoes endorsed by podiatrists. These bad boys were there, and once I stepped into them, I was in love. I am extraordinarily overweight, but these provide more than enough cushion to make me comfortable, and they are unbelievably supportive.
