With the newspaper open on a flat surface, one camera photographs the left and the other photographs the right, each one being controlled by an inexpensive laptop. The resolution isn’t great, so during post processing we have to bump up the resolution using imagemagick. We also use supplemental lighting and turn off the built-in light. My only complaint about the cameras is the hinge doesn’t reliably open to or stay at 90 degrees. Even with these issues, the Viisan cameras offer great value for the money.
