You can only fill it halfway if you want the seal to work.
I like the size and the sturdiness of these storage containers. The only reason I’m giving it a four stars is, the rubber seal can sometimes get stuck, making the item impossible to open.

ONLY 10 ounces
I weighed out 12 ounces of rice on a food scale and the lid won’t seal. These are not true to size. I tried again with 11 ounces, then 10 ounces — the lid wouldn’t seal until I got down to 10 ounces. Not loving the inaccuracy. Depending on what you’re storing, you’re not going to get the full use. I could only seal 5 ounces of coffee beans, not even half what I was hoping for.

Great storage
I already had several of these for flour, brown sugar, quinoa etc. I ordered these to store my herbal teas: vervain, camomile etc. Because of the closure of the lid everything keeps fresh and no little ants can enter. We had such an invasion this Summer. Anyway I will be buying more of these for my other whole grains. Happy with my buy.

These storage containers are so good! Much better value for money than the OXO ones, and they do exactly the same job. They keep your foods sealed very well and are super sturdy and easy to use. Would highly recommend.
