The pre-assembled manifold has special swivel unions which create a secure, watertight seal against each manifold component and the valves. If you ever need to add a valve or replace a valve, the procedure is as simple as unthreading the swivel, sliding it back, and adding or replacing the valve. The process of adding a drip filter and pressure regulator is equally simple. The heavy-duty preassembled valve fittings are compatible with all 3/4-inch and 1-inch valves from Orbit, Hydro-Rain, and other major brands. For a professional-quality manifold installation, mount the preassembled manifold on the valve box base with a standard valve box covering it. For outdoor irrigation use with cold water only. Review: Great for future repairability - I'm not a big fan of Orbit's valves, but their manifold system is excellent. You just pair these transition adapters with Orbit's swivel adapters and manifolds and you can put together a set of valves where you can actually replace a valve or a filter or a pressure regulator without the hours of extra work and expense of digging, cutting, gluing, etc. The Orbit manifold parts are basically unions that are purpose-built for valve boxes and allow you to easily remove and replace the components in your valve box. If you build your valve assembly correctly with these manifold adapters and a couple inches of extra PVC, then in the best case, you can simply unscrew your old parts and screw in an identical new part. In the worst case, when you can't find an identical part, you can still replace the broken part with something that's not the exact same length and also glue in a short length of PVC and a new manifold adapter. If you follow the instructions it will sure work properly. Easy to install, high quality , durable, the color is perfect and most important: it does not melt in water. The water goes through it as water in a pipe and...like a miracle, when you push the water from one side it immediately goes out from the other side.
