Confirm sizing if you have a larger compact gun.
So, first off the case is solid! And heavy! Both good things, but be aware if you want to use this for travel it will add significant weight to your luggage. OK on to fit and function. I have a Sig P320 XCarry. It barely fits the 2600KP. Had I checked dimensions a bit more close I may have opted to go with the XL, but my gun does fit with my extra mag but just barely. See the photo. My wife's gun is a Sig P365 XMACRO and that fits just fine with a bit of wiggle room to spare. So, if your gun is overall longer or taller than the overall height and length of a P320 XCarry you WILL need the XL. I considered swapping my box for the XL but this box is just for my truck when I absolutely have to go somewhere that would land me in jail for carrying a sidearm. Since my P320 does fit and with the extra mag I opted to save the extra 90 bux the XL would cost. About the only place I go that I can't carry is when I go to the VA or the very rare occasion I visit someone in a hospital. Set up was easy, follow the instructions and pairing the RFID tags was a snap. In conclusion, this is an exceptional lock box, and the fact you can plug it into the wall if used in your house is pretty awesome. Side note: when you select an object to put the security cable around keep in mind 2 things. Make sure it's strong, and equally or more important, don't put it around something that it can just be lifted off of. I've seen this happen before. Just PSA.

Best safe, you can buy for the money
To my knowledge, this is not fireproof or waterproof. Other than that itโs perfect. It mounts securely almost anywhere and easily. The locking cord is a bit cumbersome. Other than that itโs absolutely perfect. Itโll easily hold any gun and still have some room for money or things like that itโs easy to program, and easy to open with several different options. It pops open very quickly when you swing the remote keypad that is provided. It also opens with a combination or with an emergency key the easiest way to open. It is the keypad I glued several of them on my key fobs for my car, so they are easy to carry around , I searched around for a while to find this and I couldโve paid more for a more expensive but not necessarily as safe this one is great. The company is well known I think and I believe it was definitely worth the money. Itโs a great safe for any RV or inside your car it opens quickly and easily closes absolutely securely. I have complete faith in the product as far as keeping anything safe and out of peoples way.

Tuff and reliable
Purchased this safe for my wife's new home office as most break ins are during daytime and I am away , I will never have to worry about opening this safe , it comes with 4 RFID openers and two quality keys as well as opens with a numeric code. The safe has a small footprint but it weighs more than you might expect. I tested several firearms for fit , a S&W 686 K frame , Sig Sauer P 320 compact and a Glock 23 all fit with no problems. I believe I got an excellent value for the money spent. I own some other Hornady equipment " reloading tools " and every thing Hornady makes is high quality.

Good safe with a couple of annoyances
I purchased this gun safe to put under the seat of my car. I already have a polymer version but wanted something more robust. This safe is very robust, heavy and secure. The two issues I have had with it are due to it being used in a vehicle. First, the cable does not latch into the safe. It drops into a slot and it often falls out when opening and closing the safe. Countless times I have closed the safe and then realized the cable is not attached and must then re-open it and put the cable back in. I am going to try to zip tie the cable and see if that helps. The second problem is much more serious. After about 2 months of the safe riding around in my car it stopped working and I was only able to open/close it with the key. I opened up the safe and disassembled the lock mechanism. Once I did that I could see that one of the battery cable connections had disengaged from the control board. They put glue on them but this connector had glue in the wrong place. My solution was to use RTV and put a blob on each connector. Once I did that the safe started working and has not failed since.

Wristband works great
Great safe for keeping your firearm secure, yet accessible when you need it. It has a nice weight to it, and the lock seems sturdy. I store my Glock 42 in it at night (roomy fit with such a small firearm), and I wear the wristband. Contrary to what I've read in some of the reviews, my wristband works fine so far. (the chip is on the bottom of the wristband, not in the Hornady emblem). Comes with a cord for power, (you can also put 4 AA batteries in it for when transporting it) and nice sturdy cable to secure it to furniture. Overall quite satisfied.

Nonfunctional and delivered broken.
Only unlocks with the physical key or if plugged into 120 VAC. After replacing the x4 AA batteries three times through a hole in the battery box I noticed a wire was unplugged. Even with the battery wire plugged in it will not lock/unlock with batteries. Quality control seems to be lacking unfortunately. Wouldn't recommend this purchase as keyed lock boxes are significantly cheaper than this nonfunctional model.

Well designed, slightly wider than advertised.
Very well designed product. My Sig 1911 commander model is slightly over 7 3/4" but I took the chance that I could fit it in diagonally. I was pleasantly surprised that the actual internal width is 8" and not the 7.70" in the product description. My handgun fits without having to be on a diagonal along with two spare mags. The internal shape is not a pure rectangle, see pic, so the 8" width is there where you need it and it tapers to 7.5" at the front to the safe. There are also two "posts" that engage the stop catches of the lid and the dimension between them is 7 3/8". They are in a location that does not interfere with the placement of my handgun. Programming the RFID actuators was simple and straight forward. I applied one of the stickers to the back of my cell phone and determined that it will work through the phone's protective case. I originally placed the sticker in the middle of the phone but decided to relocate it closer to the top. I was able to carefully remove it using a spatula to lift one edge. The adhesive stayed on the sticker so it was successfully relocated without being destroyed. I'm not sure if removal would be possible after being applied long term. I leave the safe plugged into AC power and found out that if the power goes out, you must press one of the buttons to reactivate the RFID reader. It will then remain active until the AC power is removed. The instructions tell you that this is necessary every time if operating on batteries only but there is no mention of it being necessary after a power outage. If the led indicator is not on and green then the safe will not open with an rfid device. I'm very happy with this safe and highly recommend it. My only suggestions for improvement would be: 1) If the AC power goes out the rfid reader should automatically become active when power is restored. 2) There should be a detent to hold the cable in place while the safe is in the open position.

Great safe!
Really satisfied. So quick and easy to access my pistols. Its sturdy, solid and well made just like youโd expect from Hornady. This model has room enough for my full size 9mm and my carry 380. One drawback is just after a couple months of daily wearing, the chip bent in the adjustable bracelet that comes with the safe. So that was useless after that. But I bought extra rubber slip-on bracelets as well as the RF sticker pack. The rubber slip on bracelet has held up very well. So that may be something to consider buying if you decide to get this great, fast access and well built safe.
