First day, 2 dead rats! I like the fact that I don't constantly have to reset individual traps, they love the bait! Only issue I have is the counter does not seem to be working. No worries, I can count dead rats!

I have had several instances of mice/rats biting on other devices placed next to the A24, but no takers on this device. I don't believe the bait is effective, and will try peanut butter, which has worked on my other traps with great effectiveness. Extremely expensive alternative when compared to traps that cost less than $1.00 per device, but - as with other users - was overly impressed with the technology. First CO₂ cartridge I loaded leaked the gas within a few seconds. Bought some Teflon tape for the gas cartridge on my second try, and that worked just fine. The bait mechanism provided is supposed to feed new bait, as required. On the first night, all of the bait flooded out of the cap that held it, and it clogged the trip mechanism, preventing it from triggering the main action of the device. To solve the problem, I removed the bait holder, and manually applied bait. The device now works perfectly, except for the fact that I still have had no bites on the A24.

I have had this in my Vancouver back yard continuously for 4 years. I tried the attractant that came with this trap, as well as alternatives (peanut butter, tallow, raw meat etc.). No rat has ever set off the compressed gas cylinder. Glue traps are much more effective in catching the Norwegian rats that live in our neighborhood.
