Worked perfectly with two different 14.1" LCD displays. The package contains the main board with all the connectors, two small circuit boards and a remote control. The two small boards are a control panel with 5 buttons and a power supply for the LCD backlight. The cables attached to them only fit in the correct socket on the main board so you can't mess it up! The LCD power supply also needs to connect to the screen along with the 30 pin connector. Again, the LCD backlight (two wire, pink and grey on my LCD plug into the the socket on the LCD power supply. Like the main board the connector only fits one way. So: 1. Connect the LCD power supply to the main board. 2. Connect the control panel circuit board to the main board. 3. Disconnect the two wire LCD power from the one on the LCD and plug it into the new LCD power supply. 4. Remove the 30 pin connector from the LCD and plug in the new one coming from the main board. 5. Connect 12V to power plug on the main board (center is positive) 6. Connect your video input of choice. 7. Turn in on, select the proper input and you're done! The remote control requires a 3025 watch battery (not included) I found it easier to navigate the menus with the remote instead of the buttons but YMMV. This made a 14" monitor from a discarded laptop. It will be more work to make a nice mount for it than actually making it work :)

Box was open and damaged taped up. Item wrapper was opened. Other then that all items were there Hooked up item and as soon as I did it fried back light power board! No good

Works nicely. Easy to use and 100% quality.. I use this mounted under a shelf with a laptop display mounted to the face of the shelf as a Nanny Cam. I can see my kids playing nicely in their room without worrying what they are up to. It's Good to be a Geek!

This controller board works as promised. This helped me to upcycle my old dead laptop. I had an old Compaq Presario F700 laptop that had a fried motherboard. Instead of throwing it away, i was able to bring its screen back to life as an external monitor using this board. I turned it into a small project; i gutted the inside of the laptop and mounted this board and cables internally, and preserved the frame of the monitor so i could keep the casing. Now i have a laptop that is secretly just an external monitor! I can connect my game consoles, another laptop, or use it with my desktop at home.

Received item without remote control. Board works good but it would be nice to have the remote that goes with it. Board works great for a 15.4 inch laptop screen that we made a custom frame to make a large digital photo frame. Love the ability to repurpose a perfectly good screen on a broken laptop to make a great looking photo frame.

Well made solution for a difficult problem. Product is well made with easy to follow instructions. Worked on first setup and continues to work as advertised. Definitely make sure to order the proper kit for your panel.

It works OK but only options in the menu are 4:3 and 16:9 aspect ratio. I tried it with a 16:10 screen and the image was stretched. The vendor should mention supported aspect ratios in the description.

Very easy to build a display from an old/broken or otherwise unused laptop. Just remember you need a power supply. I used the same one from the sacrificed laptop.
