I am one of far too many with a back that gives me pain every day, all day. I have had two surgeries and overall not much better off 15 plus years after my initial injury prior to surgery. Because of this I require a bit more support to even function, this means finding something that aids my back in the day to day routine. Like many of you I find myself on the search for the elusive support.First off, The edges on the top and bottom of this roll over, and no I am not fat. Ok, I have a few extra pounds I wish I didn't, but I am a far cry from being fat and yet cannot find a back support for a reasonable sum of money that actually supports all that well. This "compression" style support has limited ability to actually support the spine to any great degree.I read all the reviews and thought this might be built differently, not even close. The flimsy plastic flat bars that run across the back portion to give some rigidity to the support are too flexible to really do much. They certainly do not keep the edges from rolling over, which causes the support to lose shape.The Velcro is good and the system to increase and decrease compression is also good, but the large Velcro tab with the hooks should have been smaller than the tab it covered. What I am saying is, The front closure has the typical hook and loop side which faces away from your body, and is also the softer material. The Hook sided tab which faces your body is far more course and is made the same size as the tab it covers, but even perfectly lined up some of those hooks will rub your skin and irritate the sanity out of you. Switching these tabs would be ideal, but they designer could have made the tab on top facing you a bit smaller as well.Overall this compression style support does help, but it takes more compression to do this that the so called "support" does. This will inevitably not be the end to my search, as it appears none of the designers have much of a clue as to what they are doing when designing a "support" for the lower back. I really don't think the designers coming up with these actually ever wear the thingsLast note, if your looking for compression support this one is better that most I've used, but keep in mind if you have even a few extra pounds in your mid-section this will roll on the edges. I think you have to be skin and bone for it not to. Oh, and the lumbar pad is gimmicky and poorly designed as well, I leave it on though because I would throw it away if I had it laying around. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Very good back brace for the money *by M***S on Reviewed in the United States on March 17, 2015* Very good back brace for the money.However i am A big guy 6'2" 275lb with a decent belly. I have tried many back braces and the inherent problem for me is that they tend to roll up in front under my belly onto my belt line. They are still doing the job, it just gets uncomfortable.So far this one has resisted and is doing fine due to the construction, the straps seem to be a little wider than the last couple i have tried.I would love to see an XL version of this brace as I am at the very upper limit of its sizing and have to stretch it to the limit to secure it around the belly which means the velcro wont last as long.Overall, very well constructed and great for the price. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Does not fit. *by P***. on Reviewed in the United States on October 17, 2015* The description of the back brace states it fits up to 50 in.
