These are very diminutive and delicately built and yet strong. We have put some shims in the front to hold it up against the wall on carpet and didn't use the strap and the shims are perfect-no wiggle at all. When you put it together leave all the screws slightly loose and once it's together go back and tighten them up which makes it easy to put together. I bought one for plants and it would be great for them but it got taken over with books. They don't take up much space, are a cheery color, finely finished bamboo and we are now buying our 4th so I have seen the quality is consistently good. There are a lot of cheaply done bamboo items out there; these are well finished and smooth and the screws that come with them are good and do their job well, unlike many products from outside the USA that come with screws that have to be replaced with American ones. if you put books on them thin books will fall through the spaces between the bamboo slats so I've been laying them flat on top.

Great shelves! Super easy to assemble, well made, and clean functional look. Sufficient storage capacity for my use as pantry closets. Was a really affordable option to turn a broom closet into a pantry!

The shelving unit is exactly what the description says - if you are looking for a heavy duty storage storage shelf like you might use in a garage, this isn't it - but for a mid-sized, not too deep, sturdy shelf for light to medium-weight items, this one is top notch. PROS 1. Extremely easy to assemble. Four bolts and a bunch of screws, and the tool you need for them is included. Be sure to look over the directions. These are quite simple, but each shelf post has an inside and an outside - and each shelf has a top side and a bottom - getting them lined up right at the beginning will save you having to unscrew things later. 2. Compact. It's less than a foot deep, which makes it fine for small spaces like an entryway or hallway. 3. Well made. I've put a bunch of mail order shelves together, and you can tell quality when you see it. The holes are all well drilled, and the screws fit perfectly. Spacers are include to provide support between the shelves. Two straps to fasten it to the wall are included. 4. Attractive enough. This item does not make a fashion statement, but as a bamboo utility shelf it looks fine. CONS I really don't have any. My only concern is that there is no cross-support for the back of the unit - but the thing is very stable, so I doubt one is needed. I bought two ... and will probably buy a couple more.

Very well made. Sturdy. Easy though a little time-consuming to put together. I use them in old-fashioned closets to create storage for linens, etc. because they are narrow (can easily see and access what’s on the shelf), and they also fit under the closet shelf and hanging pole. If used against a wall in a room, you’d absolutely need to use the anchor safety straps that come with them.

I ordered this shelf because I was running out of room for some of my smaller plants. I really like that it’s 100% made of bamboo because it seems a lot sturdier than plastic, and it fits the aesthetic of my home decor a lot better (not to mention it’s more sustainable). The shelves were perfectly spaced for my propagations and a few of my smaller plants, and it’s perfect for climbing vines and pothos! You can easily weave vines in between the shelving. The lights I added are of course not included, but make the shelf look even better. It was super easy to put together, and they include everything you need! I used a standard screw driver, but the included hex key would definitely do the job. It was also packaged well with foam and plastic, so no damage in transit. I’m very satisfied and happy with this shelf!

I bought two shelves to fill some storage needs we had due to living in a small apartment with a rabbit. I chose this product over others because they are made of bamboo, which tends to be both more durable and sustainable. Upon opening the box, I could definitely smell chemicals (i.e., formaldehyde), so for those with chemical sensitivity, these may not be ideal. I made sure to build them in a room with plenty of fresh air and an air purifier running. Some may want to wear a mask. I knew from other similar purchases that the chemical off-gassing would take a day or two, but after that the smell has definitely dissipated. I did find one piece to have a small amount of damage, so buyers beware--there doesn't seem to be a high level of quality control (see photo). I decided to keep it and positioned the damaged part to be in the back where it is not visible, rather than deal with customer service and the possibility that it would end up on a landfill somewhere. Its barely noticeable. The instructions are clear, for the most part and ample hardware is included. On the first build, I inadvertently attached the top and bottom vertical pieces incorrectly, which I realized halfway through attaching the shelves. The screw holes on the outer side are recessed, while not recessed on the inside (photos included for reference). There's no mention of this in the instructions so I include that info here to hopefully save someone else the grief. The first shelf took about 35 minutes to put together given my mistake, but the second was much easier, taking only 15 minutes. It was somewhat tedious and certainly not good for my back, and for those with back problems I definitely recommend taking breaks. Additionally, I would recommend using the wall anchors provided to secure the shelves to the wall. Given their height and narrow design,they will tip easily. This can be a significant danger to children and anything you put on the shelves. Store heavier items on lower shelves. If placing on carpet, you may need something to use as a shim, or to add felt pads under the front feet to level it out as the back feet will be higher due to the carpet nail strip where the floor meets the wall. One final note is that the hex wrench that is provided most likely contains lead. If you have a higher quality one on hand, definitely use it. Otherwise, I would consider wearing gloves, if possible, and in all other cases wash your hands every time you stop working on it to prevent absorption or transfer. Exposure to lead can have serious and lasting detrimental effects on your health. These are apparently the risks that come along with low-cost import products and if you can afford a little more, Ikea is a much safer bet due to their rigorous quality control.

The shelf is precisely what I wanted. It wasn’t too difficult putting together by myself. I knocked off 1 star (would have been maybe a half a star if I could have done that) because there are extra screw holes that are visibly empty unlike the photo. It’s not a problem just more of a visual pet peeve for me.
