Best looking and best performing ceiling fan/light I have ever owned! But expensive!!
If you want a contemporary-looking, high-quality ceiling fan/light combination, this is it! It is gorgeous and well-made. The fan has three speeds and pumps tons of air, all I could ever need. And it's whisper quiet and reversable. The light is not overwhelmingly bright but adequate. I would opt for brighter if it were available. The look is impressive, beefy looking yet sleek. It's flush to the ceiling and hangs only about a foot below. The fan blades are beautifully sculpted and remind me of those seen in the old Bogart movies. (I'm old! HaHa!) And the brushed metal finish is flawless. It was a breeze to wire and hang. Took me less than 30 minutes and would have been less were it not for an adjustment I had to make to the junction box location. The remote works well but the dimming function is unimpressive, requiring the on/off button to be held down as the light cycles through dimming and brightening without any definite stopping point. You have to guess when it's at its brightest then release the button. Procedure for reversing the fan is not intuitively obvious, though I managed to do it several times. I may have to read the instructions, much as I hate to admit that, so I know how to reverse while stopped to avoid over stressing the motor! It may not be an issue since the control technology today probably prevents overstressing. This is perhaps my 15th ceiling fan in 40 years and is by far the best, all things considered. I highly recommend.

Very nice fans; a few minor quibbles
I've installed many fans over the years, and have never before been so impressed. I bought three of these for bedrooms in my own home. The fans are nice and sturdy, with a good low overall profile, while still having enough room to draw air into the blades or push it out along the ceiling (when the fan direction is reversed). The movement is very quiet, with almost no vibration. The LED light is great. Good coverage of the entire room, with a nice low-profile globe. The color temperature is very warm for an LED, which is especially important for living rooms or bedrooms. Overall, I'm happy with my purchase. Nonetheless, I have a few minor quibbles: 1) The LED light doesn't dim very much. I have newborn twins, and I'd like a light that I could use to check on them without waking them — this is not that light. In my experience, LEDs don't dim much anyway, but this light is made up of an array of many small individual lights. It seems like they could turn off some of them to get more dimming. 2) I hadn't noticed from the pictures online that the fan blades are kind of bland plastic that don't quite match the oil-rubbed bronze finish I got. There's enough difference in the color to give a nice contrast, but not so much that it attracts attention. Nonetheless, on close inspection it looks cheap. Structurally, they seem quite sound though. 3) The bracket for the remote didn't come with appropriate mounting hardware. I had to go get some #6 wood screws and wall anchors (the round heads on screws that usually come with anchors are too bulbous to fit). I think someone in the factory must have misunderstood what an anchor is, because the bracket came packed separately with a bunch of wire nuts, even though there were plenty of wire nuts packed with the bracket assembly. 4) The bracket for the remote seems pretty flimsy. Certainly turning the light on while the remote is in the bracket feels like it's going to snap the bracket. Personally I would prefer an option to get the built-in remotes that screw right into the wall like an ordinary switch. Still, overall I really like these fans.

Looks great, works great, easy to install by yourself (no electrician needed for this)
The fan works great, is very quiet, looks very nice, and move air very efficiently. I installed the fan myself, and it was much easier than expected. It probably took 30-45 minutes, the wiring is all self contained so not much you really have to do. The main housing unit is a bit heavy, so that could be the only tricky part of you're trying to install solo. Overall I think it's worth the price and am very happy with how it looks in the room.

I'm a fan!
I replaced an old fan in my office / music room with this one yesterday. It only took about 30 minutes to fully install, and was super-easy. NOTE: This is NOT a 44" fan; I have no idea where that measurement came from. From tip to tip, the blade span is 39". However, it moves the air effectively, and does a great job so far in my 11 x 17 ft. room. I have read several negative reviews from people that installed this fan in a room the size of a movie theater; if you follow the room size / fan size recommendations, you'll be very happy with the results. Plus, this fan looks awesome: very sleek, modern, and small, so it's not obtrusive. Also, the light is nice and bright. I wired mine to work 100% by remote; no wall switch. The direction change is kind of sketchy, but otherwise, it's incredibly easy to control using the remote.

So many things I like about these fans! For me, nearly a perfect bedroom fan.
I ordered three of these fans - one for each of my bedrooms. They most closely fit my ideal idea of a bedroom fan. They are non-obtrusive, with a low profile. They are quiet and stable with almost no side to side motion. They have a nice soft white color that blends in with the ceiling. They have no dangling chains or lights for people to run into or accidentally hit. They have a remote control so you can turn it on or off while lying in bed. They were somewhat expensive but not extraordinarily so. We have been very happy with them since installing them a month ago. The only strange thing was that they all shipped at different times and it took a while longer to receive them all. Typically when I order multiples of the same product, they ship together. My order of three fans all shipped separately and were delivered within a week of one another. Strange... but that really doesn’t affect my review of the product, itself. These are very nice fans that are nearly perfect for me, and definitely the closest thing to my ideal fan.

Pretty fan, but has serious flaws
First, its a really nice looking fan and I do appreciate the ease of installation. I like how the remote controller was already pre-installed so its basically mounting to the ceiling box, attaching 3 wires, pushing in 3 blades and turning the power back on. But there are 2 serious flaws with this fan... #1; sounds like a helicopter with swooshing noises as opposed to the traditional fan/white noise of a 4 or 5 blade fan. I need white noise to sleep, but this is rather annoying. #2; It rattles! Seriously? WTF?! It comes pre-assembled by Minka so if it rattles, it must be either a design or a buold flaw. Regardless, in fan speed 2 or 3, it makes a rattling sound which is every bit as annoying as my old, cheap $90 Hampton Bay ceiling fan. But at least it took 6 years to start creaking and rattling. The $300+ Minka started rattling after 4 days. Ugh! I'd return it but what a hassle to repack it in the box, ship it back, wait for another fan (threw my old one out), etc. Not sure what I will do now, but seriously disappointed in this fan--its 3 times the price of nearly all the fans sold and yet it's just as crappy as the ugly 5 blade ones sold at Home Depot, etc. Save yourself the hassle and don't waste your money on this fan unless you just want to look at it. At least the light works well and is bright enough to light my bedroom.
