What is used for the discharge tube?

It comes with 1/4" outer diameter tubing, and the fittings to connect it to the refrigerator ice maker line on the back of a refrigerator.

I just purchased a new samsung 4 door fridge. it has a filter inside the fridge that you unscrew and replace. can i use the flojet with it?

According to the manufacturer's instructions, an in-refrigerator filter "may cause over-cycling resulting in pump failure." An empty or dummy filter housing should be obtained from the refrigerator manufacturer and used instead of the filer. If that's not possible, the use of a small accumulator tank will be necessary. The part numbers for the extra parts are in the instructions.

What is the difference between the bw 4000 & bw 5000?

The Bw5000 is build sturdier. The rod is less likely to break. The pump noise level is much better then the Bw4000. The Bw4000 has been discontinued by the manufacturer.

Can you hook this up to a 4 gallon water heater to achieve hot water

The application use is for bottled water. It can go in a smaller than 5 gallon jug but the wand will stick out of bottle
