I have a leather pair and they stretched and fit great. I recieved a pair of these for christmas and they are pretty snug.** A: Yea I had the same problem. The shoes were a little too snug so I continued to wear them hoping they would stretch out. That didn’t seem to happen. I would expect suede to stretch, but if you look at how the shoe is made you can see that the shoe has a thick layer of canvas and the suede is sewn over the canvas. Well made but it also prevents shoe from stretching out so it seems **Q: when the shoe size chart lists shoe size as "9.5 womens/9.5 mens" how do you know if you are ordering womens or mens shoes** A: I bought the size I wear all the time. They came in a little snug but it took no time at all for them to stretch out. Noe unfortunately they are sloppy tp wear and look terrible the stretching is letting go in the front. I keep tripping because of the floppy sole. I keep wearing them as house shoes. Even new they would cause my feet to get soaked if I was walking in the grass with duw. I don’t recommend them at all. They look dirty even when they were new. If I hadn’t had to have a pair of shoes of this type in a hurry I would have bought another brand. I was pleased with the overall lightweight feel and the level of comfort and flexibility - I was initially concerned they would have a rigid fit, but this is not the case at all. The color was true to the photo and has that lovely broken-in nubuck tone to it. I ordered a wide and am glad I did - traditional boots are often snug across the toe, and the wide provided for comfort. The heel is a tad loose, but a good pair of socks prevents any sliding. Length was true to size and the upper part of the shoe is genuine leather. I expect it to stretch a bit with time, so it is helpful to be mindful of that in choosing fit. I will add that wide shoes are often too wide for me, but I'm confident that a regular medium fit would have been too snug. They are a good style that go well with either dark or light jeans and are versatile enough to go with many pant lengths, with or without socks. Athough leather, the inside of the shoe is a lined with a soft padding reminiscent of a memory foam. If you're looking a quality pair of shoes mirroring a true loafer style, these are a good choice.
