Does this show the outside humidity as well as inside?

Yes it does. 
However,the outdoor temperature is way off from every other device (and weather reports).  Right now, it is -6 F (-6 to -9) in my area... according to the news, phone apps, and every other device we have (at my parents' for Christmas, they have 3) plus this one I bought for myself.   This one is a couple of degrees off on the inside temp but it is nearly 20 degrees off for the outside temp.  It says it is +15F while all other sources say -6F or colder.  It seems to only be noticeably inaccurate when it is very hot or very cold out. :)    I regret buying this.  It does have a much brighter and easier to read display though, that's it.

Question 2

Will this transmit through a steel gun safe?

I just bought the TP65, and it DOES transmit through a true (not 150 steel box found at wally world) gun safe.  The base unit needs to be positioned close to the safe though.  Nice to be able to monitor interior humidity without opening the door.

How do you attach the outdoor sensor?

If you're wanting to place the sensor outside of your vehicle or rv while you're inside nice & warm(hopefully!), there are small round magnets with a hook attached so you can just stick it to the metal surface & remove it when you're on your way to the next destination, no glue, no damage to the vehicle surface!

Question 4

I can't seem to sync to sensors. I have many, many times repeated the directions with no luck. Batteries are all good but only the base temp shows.

Original batteries in the TP60S lasted about a year.  Replaced with Duracell brand and had the same difficulty in getting a transmission from the remote to the TP50 receiver.  Found that when I was moving the transmitter, the batteries would become disconnected briefly causing my set-up to disappear. Inserted a thin piece of packing foam over the Duracell batteries to hold them in position and it works perfectly.  I used this in a remote location to monitor the temperature and humidity of my dehumidifier.  I'm back in business again!!!
