The Metabarons Vol.1: Othon & Honorata (1)

One of the best graphic novels I've ever read... Truly amazing! The storyline, the artwork... Everything is so gripping With talent, innovation and vision. Go do yourselves a favor and read Metabarons!

does this series have many similarities with dune? yes. is this series still badass? yes. metabarons is an awesome read, filled with lots of goodness lacking in most american comics. this takes the brooding, twister and perverse hero and seems to make it feel fresh, as opposed to the now cliched dark hero. heavy metal likes to think it is on the same level as this series, but it is not. it is simply sci-fi themed softcore p0rn, and who reads that for a good story? if you like brainy and (overall) original sci-fi action that blows star wars and most sci-fi movies out of the water, check this out.

Every epic that spans generations must present its own special genesis. Like the foundation of a house, the origin story provides a base for all tales that follow. Othon, the first Metabaron's story provides the continuity and credibility for the developing epic. The artwork is exceptional too!

I read this product as that is what it is intended for.

A fantasy tale in the style of Dune. Simple but satisfying and fast paced tale of warriors and virility, told with typical Jodorowsky humor.

This is a beautiful graphic artwork story. The beginnings of the Metabarons linage is told. A classic sci-fi opera that is just beginning !

Not Jodorowski's best work, in fact surprisingly conventional, and lacking his trademark wit or insight. Quite disappointing, since the Metabaron made such a splash in the Incal series.
