If you follow that approach, the taste will indeed be quite strong. But it's pretty easily softened by adding a bit of honey or agave nectar. Like most true ginseng teas, in my experience, this one contributes tangibly to stamina. On the whole, I think I prefer Green Gold American Ginseng Tea, which is considerably smoother. But I have no real complaints about Triple Leaf.
