Review: Great chair - It's always dicey buying stuff likes shoes, clothes or office chairs online. Those are sort of personal things you want to feel and try out before plunking down your scheckles. But, I took a chance on this chair since it seemed to hit all the key points I was looking for. I must say I am pleased with the purchase. It's a stout chair that easily and comfortably supports a full grown male body (with perhaps and extra pound or two over the average). It feels durable and raises up to let me sit at standing desk level with ease. The foot ring.... Well, that is its weak point both literally and figuratively. But, I think all drafting chairs probably suffer from this. The foot ring has a tendency to drift down no matter how tight you screw down the lock knob. That can be easily overcome though by just setting it to where you want it and measuring the gap between the bottom of the ring and the chair base and cutting a matching length of PVC pipe to slip over the chair post between the two components. Once you have that keeping the ring at the proper height for your legs, Bob's your Uncle, it'll stay in place. The ring is probably also a tad small for most people's legs too. Originally I found that I had to really stretch my legs backwards to rest my feet on the ring. I cut out a wider ring from a quality piece of plywood and fastened it to the chair ring which gives me another 3 inches all around which is MUCH better. But, again, in looking at the specs of other drafting chairs, this foot rest ring size seemed to be fairly standard if not even slightly larger than many others. The quality and comfort of the chair is it's selling point. It can accommodate a 230 lbs man easily.

The seat is super thick and comfy, and lumbar support is decent. I have it set to it's maximum height, and it hasn't sunk even a tiny bit. I did replace the casters with a rollerblade-style set, but there was nothing wrong with the original casters - they were sturdy and rolled very easily. (I was just afraid the hard plastic would cause wear on my LVP flooring.) It has a knob to adjust the lean-back tension, a lever to lock the lean at a certain angle, and the height adjustment. You can also adjust the height of the foot ring - but like others have mentioned, it doesn't tend to stay in place, and will inevitably slip back down. This isn't a big deal - even at it's lowest, my feet can still reach it. I'm 5'7", and the chair's maximum height leaves me just an inch or two shy of my standing height, so switching between standing/sitting doesn't require any desk adjustments, which was my main criteria when shopping for a drafting chair. Overall, this is a comfortable, sturdy, and durable desk chair, for a very fair price. Highly recommended!

**Q: How high off the ground are you when you sit in it?**
A: It's adjustable but I feel miles high in this chair. Like I'm floating on a cloud. This chair has restored my faith in al things.

**Q: From floor to the seat, what is the highest the chair goes to?  I need it to be at least 27" high from the floor to the seat.**
A: At the highest setting, there is 26" of distance between the floor and the BOTTOM of the seat. The distance from the floor to the top seat surface is roughly 30"

**Q: Can you raise the seat while seated?**
A: If you rotate the lever and take your weight off of the seat, the seat will raise.

**Q: is it comfortable to sit cross legged in?  I shift all the time with my legs from single cross legged to full on indian style**
A: It's going to depend on your height and weight. 5'7 and weight 215. My legs are pretty big and I can sit cross legged on here. Barely, but I can do it.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Quality, Quality, Comfort

I bought my first stand-up/adjustable desk a little over a year ago. I already owned an office desk chair and figured that would be all I needed. I could adjust my desk to the standard desk height and if I wanted to stand up I could just push the chair aside. Wrong! As the birthdays go by I am less and less interested in standing at any desk. I was looking at a cheaper adjustable stool but the reviews talked about replacing the casters before even using it, or that the armrests did not adjust beyond one or two settings. I was also looking for a stool that would let me push away from the desk and stretch my back ie. a flexible backrest. This adjustable chair has it all! Plus it has considerable weight and very strong construction. I could not be happier with my purchase. The padding is great. Armrests adjust independently to five different heights. I am 5'11" and weigh 194. When I used the foot ring to "step up" to the seat, I found out that the review comments about the foot ring were correct. The screw knob just won't hold the position. To resolve this, I took a standard metal hose clamp, put it just below the foot ring on the lift cylinder, and tightened it down tight. The problem is solved! You can't even see the clamp unless you go looking for it! I love this chair. Very easy to assemble and it arrived quickly with no damage. It has only been four days so if things change I will update. For now, this is the best buy I've made this year.
