I purchased a box of Snickers bars, expecting candy. What I received was a fully documented cross-country expedition. The package departed Sparks, Nevada, toured Oregon, visited Medford, Roseburg, and Portland, crossed into Washington, paused briefly in Tacoma, and finally arrived in Seattle before completing its final mission to my porch. Throughout the journey, Amazon and UPS provided regular updates regarding the emotional and physical well-being of the package. I was reassured to learn it had arrived, departed, arrived again, departed again, been processed, loaded, unloaded, and eventually placed on a delivery vehicle after what appeared to be extensive negotiations. The Snickers themselves arrived in excellent condition despite exhibiting occasional signs of immaturity during transit. At one point I was informed the package might be slightly delayed, which I can only assume was caused by the candy bars refusing to stay seated or repeatedly asking the driver, “Are we there yet?” Upon arrival, the contents were thoroughly inspected. Several Snickers were immediately promoted to Senior Nutritional Support Specialists and assigned to critical quality-control testing. Their performance exceeded expectations. These candy bars have been helping Americans make questionable dietary decisions for generations, and I am proud to continue that tradition.
