You get what you pay for.

Why do I recommend this?Copper happens to be one of the best thermal conductive materials, that is safe to use, you can possibly find. A drip coffee system is counter intuitive in regards to coffee needing an optimal steeping temperature in order to extract both oils and flavor, however the act of letting it rest in an open environment means heat has the tendency to rapidly escape. Using a copper conductive material means that this system preserves most of that heat by quickly and efficiently matching the temperature of the liquid it houses.Yes, this is more expensive that most drip systems. However, I would like to point out that the construction quality of this product is more than sufficient to justify the purchase. If you take the time to review the stock images presented of this product you should notice that the handle is riveted to the container. This means the most used and arguably the most fragile piece of any coffee drip system happens to be secured in the most sturdy fashion possible, which is astonishing.Yes, this is smaller than many drip systems. The product description clearly states this is intended for approximately 8oz of liquid, which is a normal size cup of coffee. Your standard cup of coffee uses around 1tbsp of grind per 3oz of liquid, so ideally you want to use at least 3+ tbsp of grinds for each cup with this system. I recommend wetting the filter before adding your grinds and then wetting the grinds before filling the coffee dripper so the grinds have a better chance of settling at the bottom. No, you are not required to purchase their filters to use this.It will take some maneuvering to make it work. I purchased random $1 filters and fold it in half (half moon style), then fold 1/3 of that half moon onto itself and open to have a filter fits neatly within the drip container. This is also when wetting the filter will help with adhering to the walls of the drip container.

Perfect for making 8-12oz coffee with the Melitta cone filters

*by D***S on Reviewed in the United States on May 3, 2021*

I make pourover with Melitta cone filters because it's really easy to get good results and the filters are cheap and everywhere. I bought this because my wife doesn't like cooking with plastics, but a ceramic dripper is just too fragile for daily use.As far as I can tell, this is the only metal dripper on the market which is designed for use with Melitta cones. I was worried it might be a little too small. It's perfect for 8oz coffee and barely fits 12oz. Perfect for a #2 filter, but #4's work too. It's beautifully made and does a great job.

    Most disappointed about the craftsmanship

*by D***C on Reviewed in the United States on January 25, 2021*

I've been using this dripper almost everyday for the past 5 months, and have noticed points of erosion. I don't wash it with a strong dish detergent either. Noticing discoloration, mostly around the bolts where the handle is attached. It could be due to water trapped there, but there's no way to loosen or remove them for complete drying. Also the glue that attaches the inner rim piece (not sure what it's called) was highly visible when new (which wasn't that aesthetic anyway), but now seems to be washing away which makes me wonder if it would continuously wash away and perhaps the piece would eventually detach. There are so many things that makes me wonder, am I doing this right? I don't think a dripper should be this concerning especially at this price. I may probably just go back to a ceramic dripper or switch to a different system.
