They are so much more comfortable than slippers or wearing socks with slippers. The bottoms have a material that helps keep you from slipping on hard floors. I like that they come up about mid-calf which helps keep the lower leg warm as well. I was concerned that they might not stay up due to my legs being thin, but they stay up great! I bought them in December and am still wearing them in May because we continue to have very cool mornings here in the Midwest this year. The only issue I have had is that they are a tad too long in the foot since they don't come in more sizes. But I've gotten used to that and it's not a huge issue at all.
