I have a mid century apartment and original fittings are both hard to find and very expensive. This was a great and cheap replacement to a shade that was broken many years ago. I ended up buying 4 and using 3. Now I have a spare and all cheaper than the cost of locating an original.

Amazon has been transferred to China and now nothing is as it seems. Wrong size and not for a ceiling fan. Thin glass. Total BS. Just go to the HD and buy what they have as it's exactly the same

Replaced a missing one.

The cover is fine but if you have short set screws (1/2 inch) buy new longer ones. I needed M4s and I got them extra long at 20MM. Even though it says 6 inch fitter thats the diameter of the fixture. The original screws were too short for comfort and may not have worked at all. Both this new cover and the original one I broke are 5 1/2 inches in diameter. Longer screws made it a breeze. It will be easier to change bulbs and avoid breaking the cover again.

There isn't much to say about an item like this, but it's worth noting that the quality is excellent for the price. I have bought others that were so fragile, they broke while I attempted to install them. This one has a nice weight and thickness to it that feels, looks, and actually results in reliable durability. Moreover, the light has no problem getting through the glass, so your room will be well-lit and you won't have to worry about it breaking when you clean it, bump something into it, or whatever else little hit it might endure.

I was a little ticked when I took it out of the box, very small and lightweight. I measured the fitting quickly (I was ticked)....not sure if it's less than 5 1/2 or not, but the securing screws did a lot or screwing before it tightened up, pulling the "globe" up tight, too, and looked more like a too-tiny turtleneck. But turned on, it looks okay -- it looks quite nice. That's what it's supposed to do, look nice. It would look nicer, though, if it were a good size.

The shade arrived safely and it is a correct fit.

Globe is perfect for our needs and arrived on time. Unfortunately, we ordered two, one as a spare, and only one arrived intact, could have been slightly better packed, and marked Fragile, as was coming some distance. On the whole though, really pleased with this product.
