In fact, I am going to order another one to put on my Exerstrider, now that the designer of that product sent me instructions as to how to adapt its 1/2 in. diameter to accept the Ergocap. 7/28/15 After another week of usage in travel, including getting around six trips through airports, in and out of small boats, around docks and through museums, etc. I would like to add that I observed that there are three (3) ways in which I find this model - the Ergocap® **High Performance** model - to provide me with greater safety - 1) The hefty weight increases the likelihood that I will place the cane down perpendicular to the walking surface, rather than at an angle, without having to concentrate on doing so; 2) The main center surface is much larger than that of a standard issue cane tip and provides greater gripping surface; 3) The four angled wings extending out from the tips' main center surface insure that, even if I inadvertently place my cane down at an angle while walking, I am given much more surface against the floor or pavement than occurs when putting a standard tip down at an angle. I have severe arthritis in my knees and find a crutch better than a cane for me. I've been using a crutch for about 10 years and this tip is the first that made me feel secure going anywhere in any weather. I live in Chicago so I deal with it all and this may be expensive but it is worth it to me to have confidence as I walk. After eight months of daily use it is showing only mild wear it has already lasted a lot longer then those cheep tips and I'm sure it will keep going for many months to come. the only downsides are that it was very difficult to get it on, it's bulky and it is heavier then normal tips. I found silicone lubricant works best. It is a tight fit. Get it started and then tamp it down by banging the crutch tip on a hard surface. I'm handicapped and this works better ,for me, than any other method. **Q: how many per one order ?** A: You only get one in each order, in case you want to put it at the bottom of a cane .I ordered 2 and put them on the bottom of my crutches after foot surgery , and they were amazing! So much more stability to get around short distances without the knee scooter. **Q: For optimum functionality, does it matter whether the + is inline or X the crutch?** A: Not sure that it matters either way. **Q: What's the weight capacity for 2 of them on crutches** A: I'm not sure if they have a rated weight as crutches & canes do. I have mine on a forearm crutch and have excellent performance and no noticeable wear. I've almost had 2 falls while walking on wet surfaces and the crutch/ergo saved me from both with no slipping. As for the weight limits, I weigh just shy of 300 lbs and cannot say anything negative about it. Well worth the cost.
