Over the years, I wouldn't use any others. The give excellent results and the upper surface allows for printable labels. I recommend Memorex compatible full-face labels. They print well and photos or drawings look as good as printed letters. I design my own labels and in many cases take pictures directly off my own produced videos and include them in the label design. These Memorex compatible labels are available from Amazon and a good price. How many you buy depends on how many DVDs you burn. On a recent job I used 80 for one recipient (the sleeves I buy have 100 disks), so I'm not a "summer soldier and sunshine patriot" written by American Founding Father Thomas Paine (from a book I purchased from Amazon). But, I should add, don't get me wrong, you can buy these DVDs in smaller sleeves so don't feel intimidated by how many I buy. You'll get just as good results as I do. So, go ahead and have some fun and lots of satisfaction from your productions.

I've used this Verbatim media in the past, but I'd been using other brands since my last go-around with these. I burn a lot of DVD media. I mainly use these to write operating system ISO's (software images) to bootable media to give to PC clients, but I've also been using these a lot lately for data archival purposes. I've probably burned in upwards of 2,000 of these Verbatims over the years, and I can't recall one time where I've had to chuck a coaster into the trash can. I'm not saying these discs are 100% perfect and never fail--all computer media, by the pure nature of it, has some kind of failure rate and will eventually fail at some point--but my experience with this DVD media has certainly been outstanding. If you're on the fence about buying these compared to another brand, here's what I can tell you about brands I've used compared to these Verbatim DVD's: -HP DVD media should not exist, period. I've used it while working for a retail partner that used the HP Retail Photo Solutions package and have lost track of how many coasters I've had with the regular blue-label media. -Maxell's media is generally good, but you'll pay a premium price for it. -Memorex DVD's are inexpensive, but you're likely to have 10 or more coasters if you buy a spindle of 100. -Sony media seems to be pretty decent with minimal coasters, but the unit cost per disc is pretty high and reflective of having the Sony name on the label. All of these brands can be found on the shelf of your local 24-hour big-box store, so if you're in a time crunch and need DVD media at 4 in the morning, these are pretty much your only option. If time is not a factor, buy a spindle or two of these Verbatim DVD's, and stop worrying about coasters.

What more can I say about this package of 100 Verbatim DVD disks? I have repeatedly ordered these items from Amazon over a period of many years, because I used them regularly in my work. It usually takes me some time to work through the whole 100 disks, but they have NEVER failed me. I can depend on them to deliver exactly what they say they'll deliver, and I have satisfied clients no matter what I'm producing for them. As long as they keep on working for me, I'll definitely keep on ordering them.

I have used plethora brands of recordable +/- R, RWs DVDs since this technologies release. Though I have discovered myriad brands that provide quality, value and reliability -- Verbatim is the most reliable for use in my Toshiba DVD recorder. Even when using recommended brands from Toshiba's manual Verbatim has given the best results, the least resistance. My Toshiba DVD Recorder for some bizarre reason finds most disk unrecognizable to record on. Whatever the differences Verbatim formats and ready for recording almost instantly. Verbatim is the brand I use 98 percent of the time across all my computer DVD burners and the Toshiba DVD Recorder. Good Price, Quality very few DEAD DVDs. Burn quality is good. Recording quality is great. Easy to write on. For 100 discs the price is great. The company secures the disc in a case which keeps them from getting damaged. However, it was shipped in a bag and arrived with a broken lock ring where the top locks into the bottom. Good news, none of the disc were damaged.

No issues or problems with these discs. I read some of the other reviews and I was leery. I've used Verbatim for years with perhaps 15 bad disk all these years so they are among the most reliable. Now to the price issue. They are NOT cheap and have been creeping up in price. I used to be able to buy them for $20 on sale. On Amazon the price is competitive if not just a teeny bit lower than elsewhere - but still HIGH. They have a limited lifetime guarantee warranty. Can you name other DVD-R brands that offer the same? Does it matter? Yes. Why? Well most DVDs from any brand will burn and will appear just fine after the time of burning. The real test comes in the yet-to-be. Years later. This is the real issue. Time. With cheap DVDs you are likely to pay in the long term with an inability or access your files, data, media. You won't find out today or tomorrow but in several years from now. It's happened to me for bargains I bit into years go. Not a pleasant surprise years later. The DVDs that have given me the least grief over the years? Yes the Verbatim ones. Perhaps this is why they offer the limited lifetime warranty. Also they are made in Taiwan and that is a very very very serious plus where I am concerned. The quality and reliability shows. I've got the 10 years of usage to confirm this. You can use these discs in regular computer or laptop burners or you can use them in DVD recorders if you are lucky enough to still have one. Just remember for DVD recorders it depends on it's age as to whether or not it recognizes or can burn a DVD-R and that is based in the firmware of the recorder. It is NOT THE fault of a DVD-R brand, but the firmware in the recorder. You need to stick to the speed and or brands recommended at the time the recorder came out. For much older recorders you may need to use 8x not 16x - check your recorders documentation or go on line to hunt for a manual. The good news is that amazon sells both max speeds. So I am still very pleased with the Verbatim DVD-R discs but I am growling at the increasing price. For data and files that matter I will continue to stick with Verbatim, I've got over 10 years of positive re-enforcement to justify my decision.
