It works!!! Buy this!!
Okay, I will admit I bought this cleaner CD as a last ditch effort to save my 1997 audiobox five cd changer. I had little to no hope that it would work but after reading some promising reviews, I decided what the heck I may as well give it a shot, it isn't very expensive and the worst thing that happens is it doesn't work. I must have tried to run the cd through at least ten fifteen times between track 1 one 2 and it didn't seem like it was doing anything. I skipped it to my music cd, and it sounded like it was going to fly right out of my cd changer it was vibrating the whole unit so bad, which I thought was odd because it did not do that before. So I thought, okay, well, the cleaner must be doing "something"! I followed another reviewer's advice and let track two run for a bit. I actually forgot about it after I went downstairs and to my shock and delight when I came back to it, when I skipped to one of my music cds, it started playing! I about cried! Buy the dang CD... IT WORKS!!!

Worked on my Bose CD Player after a few tries
My Bose CD player has not been working for over a year. It was skipping tracks and made a consistent clicking sound. As a last resort before throwing it out, I thought I would try this CD cleaner to see if it would help. The CD cleaner is very easy to use. I played it once and it helped a little so I kept running it over and over again. Each time, there was improvement. It took multiple tries, but it eventually worked. This was a great value and I am so glad I tried it. I definitely recommend it if you are experiencing a similar issue. I gave it 4 stars only because I had to use it multiple times to get a clear sound. I give it 5 stars for working and saving me $$$ in replacement costs for a new CD player.

I have to admit, I was skeptical
My 2002 Pontiac Montana's CD player started acting up a few months ago. Almost every time I put a CD in, the player would spit it back out and the display would say "CHECK CD." After 3 or 4 tries, the player would finally accept the CD. But it sure was frustrating. So I stopped at the dealership and inquired about this problem. The first thing the service advisor suggested was to try a CD lens cleaner. I had never used one of these in my life. And I've had CD players since 1984. But when I went to my brother-in-law's house for Thanksgiving, he had just purchased this same identical CD lens cleaner at the local Meijer store. I asked him if I could try it out in my car's CD player and he gladly obliged. Well, after one cleaning, so far the CD player hasn't rejected any of my CDs. And we drove back home after Thanksgiving...almost 300 miles...and played many CDs. So, for now at least, I'm convinced. I came right home and ordered this Maxell CD lens cleaner for myself. I don't know if I'd feel comfortable enough to try it in my Mac desktop or PowerBook...but I think I'd feel safe using it in my Sony CD player or PlayStation. In fact, the PS2 will be the first device to get cleaned when this arrives. It's been rejecting discs, too. Maybe the lens is just gunked up with dust. Anyways...it fixed my car CD player trouble and saved me a lot of money that the dealership would've charged me to service the darn thing. I'd recommend it highly.

Used with my Bose Wave CD Player -REVIEW REVISED
REVIEW REVISED: After posting a 5-star review saying that this product worked wonders on my stuttering/skipping Boss Wave CD player, I discovered that the fix was only temporary. The next time I used the CD player, it was skipping again. I used the cleaner disc again, and it seemed to work, but the next CD didn't play. There must be something else wrong with my unit so I can't fairly rate this product. I had to give it 3 stars in order to revise my post.

Maxell's exercise in confusion - including compatibility.
For MODEL#: CD-340, ITEM#: 190048 The description here (and on the sites of some other major retailers) reads: "Compatible with CD players and CD-ROM drives. Not for laptops and Blu-ray." When I received this, the back of the package reads: "For use with CD/DVD players, laptops, and standard gaming systems." Maxell's own online store and some other retailers also state this. An e-mail to Maxell support questioning this discrepancy received a prompt response that said in part "It is NOT safe for use in LAPTOP computer optical disc drives or with Blu-Ray drives (Blu-Ray drives use a laser lens that sits much closer to the disc, so do most laptop cd or dvd drives.)" Not helping is at least four different incarnations of packaging for the same model and item#. (The package I received from Amazon does not have the MAXLINK PRO heading shown in the image here.) Anyway, completely throwing caution to the wind, I put this into my desktop drive. The seemingly pointless voice "instructions" say "Please select track three and press play when the music stops" When you go to track three you are immediately told: "The cleaning is now complete" You're then treated to a couple of more minutes of music - because that's why you bought this, right? I went back to track two which runs for 46 minutes so I'm guessing that's the cleaning track. CD-340 didn't correct the problem I'm having with my desktop drive but that doesn't mean it didn't clean the lens. I would feel more confident of that if I at least felt certain it's meant to clean a desktop drive. Who knows?

WOW! This Product Worked Great!
WOW! This product worked great. My Bose Wave radio with CD player was left in our garage for 4 months as we recovered what we could from our home after Hurricane Helene storm surge flooding. It got very, very dirty and would not play any CDs. I tried another highly rated CD player cleaning disc which helped, but did not fix the problem so that the system would play CDs after several cleaning process attempts. I then tried this product on and it worked superbly on the first run. EXCELLENT PRODUCT! Saved us a very expensive bill to take the system into an electronics shop to have the CD player cleaned.

Read this review before buying
The cd-340 now has two brushes compared to the older version. Impressive but that's as far as it goes. The one-star reviews are correct. Voice instructions are dismal; you are told to go to Track 3 and press "play" when the music stops. On my disc, you go to Track 3 and immediately the voice says, "Cleaning is complete." There is no Track 2 and there is music on Track 1 before the female voice tells you to go to Track 3. So is this disc cleaning at all? Caveat emptor! Buyer beware: Amazon has no return policy on this product as if it knows that there are a whole bunch of defective Maxell cd cleaners out in the Land of Greed. Amazon should do the right thing and take this product out of circulation. And reach into their deep pockets and refund all that money that went towards buying this shoddy product.

Considering this came to UK from the USA, it was reasonably swift. The product worked fine and my Bose is now playing CD's much better.
