Review: Great camera, easy setup - I replaced my older Zmodo camera with the Tapo TP-Link camera after Zmodo added very annoying ads to their phone app that you can't bypass when opening their app. I switched to Tapo and I haven't looked back. The Tapo TP-Link camera works great. It has nice clear video and sound with Night vision, tilt and pan capability, and SD card storage. It is easy to use and is a fantastic value for the money. I already own two other stationary Tapo cameras that work great and I can now view any one of the 3 cameras on the Tapo phone app.
Review: Love it - I love how this system has clear audio, a long battery life which is amazing, its super easy to setup, no Wi-Fi is required which is exactly what we were looking for, it has great long range we take the dog outside and not lose signal, the camera is super silent when turning on so doesn't wake our boys in the middle of the night, the built in lullabies is very helpful and a plus to have, the split side by side screen is great because we get to see both boys at the same times, using the eco mode is great to have a night the screen is off but kicks on when one of the boys is crying so it saves battery. Night vision is nice a clear to see and the quality of the product itself is great for the value you pay for.

**Q: Does this work with 5ghz internet?**
A: No, it only works at 2.4Ghz.  You really only want it on 2.4Ghz because it doesn't require 5Ghz bandwidth/throughput and 2.4Ghz is more consistent at longer distances and better at penetrating through walls.

**Q: I have the 1080p version and was wonder if 2k is worth upgrading?**
A: I wouldn't suggest giving TP-Link/Tapo any more money until they implement certain obvious upgrades in their app: 1.) the ability to protect certain clips saved on the micro SD card so that they are not over-written in the loop-recording mode, 2.) the ability to set panning limits left-right/up-down for the auto-pan mode. Once they get these limitations fixed, I would heartily suggest upgrading and being loyal to Tapo for all your security camera needs.

**Q: do you have to pay for the app?**
A: No. The Tapo app is available for free on iOS and Android.

**Q: Is there an option to hear your pet/child and not let them hear me while viewing?**
A: Yes! You can view and hear the child/children without them knowing. To speak to them you have too hold the microphone button in the app.

I replaced my older Zmodo camera with the Tapo TP-Link camera after Zmodo added very annoying ads to their phone app that you can't bypass when opening their app. I switched to Tapo and I haven't looked back. The Tapo TP-Link camera works great. It has nice clear video and sound with Night vision, tilt and pan capability, and SD card storage. It is easy to use and is a fantastic value for the money. I’m genuinely impressed with the Tapo 2K security camera for the price. The 2K video quality is sharp enough to clearly see faces, details, and activity, even when compared with much more expensive cameras. Night vision is also surprisingly good, and the motion detection has been reliable without constantly blowing up my phone with useless alerts. Setup was quick and straightforward, and the app is easy to navigate. I especially like being able to check the camera remotely and get notifications when something is detected. For the money, this camera is hard to beat. If you want solid image quality, dependable motion detection, and an easy to use app without spending a fortune on a security system, the Tapo 2K is a great option. Definitely worth the money.
