O2 Cool 5-Inch Portable Fan USB or Electric

I am the kind of person that needs some wind blowing on my face and some background noise in order to sleep. I had planned a vacation to Ireland and knew that I would be staying in hotels every night. I bought this because it seemed compact enough for travel and had good reviews as far as the amount of wind that it put out. This thing literally saved me on vacation. If not for this little fan I would have been too hot to sleep. For its size it puts out a good amount of wind. I love that it plugged into my USB port on my computer too. Since I was in Ireland it used 200V outlets so I would plug my laptop in to charge it and just plug the fan into the laptop and point it towards me. It folds up nicely and fits into luggage well. I brought it back to work with me (I work in Afghanistan) and it is also a great fan desk. Just enough breeze to keep me cool, but not too much or too noisy. The only thing that I would suggest is that the plug be designed to fit into the base of the fan when it's not in use. Otherwise this is a GREAT fan and I would recommend it to anyone.

I travel every week with my job and I am always working in an office that may be too hot depending on the other workers preference. With my new fan that I can connect to my laptop, I can instantly be cool to my delight. The fan is very quiet but delivers a powerful stream of air. The design allows you to aim the air flow at just the right angle and it is easy to store and carry with you when traveling. This is a must have if you are a sweater like me.

These are the most wonderful fans- I have them in the office plugged into the computer, by the chair in the living room so I can have air moving while the husband can not have air blowing at him, and these have been life savers while traveling in hotels and wanting a little air or "white noise". I plug one into a power bank and run it inside the camper when the isn't any power hooked up.

This is my GOTO fan for travelling. In fact I used the other so much that it eventually conked out on me. So I have ordered two more and will save one as a future backup. The amount of air the small fan moves is suprisingly good. And the tilting hinge makes it great for getting it pointed at just the right angle. Overall a very good quality item. However please note that is does NOT have a battery option as the item description would have you beleive. It states: "No Power? No problem. This 5 inch battery powered fan runs 14 hours on low, and 11. 5 hours on high" This is completely FALSE as there is no battery present on the Fan. It comes with a USB power supply and cable, but there is not a battery option. Also, please note that there is no "High" or "Low" setting, only one speed available. I can vouch for the run time on an external USB battery pack. It will INDEED run for hours on end, and I recently made a VERY long flight and it was still running after 16 hours. I found that the base is quite slippery and would tend to move during flight. To fix this, I lined the bottom with a rubber tubing to give it some "stickyness" and have it stay put. Overall, I love this fan! It does the job and is a LIFE SAVER when travelling to hotter destinations!

I’m a travel agent, so I travel. A lot. I’m also a woman of <uhhem> a certain age, so I like a cool (some might say freezing- looking at you, husband) sleeping space. Often cruise cabins and hotel rooms feel stuffy. Well, not any more! This little beauty weighs nothing and folds flat. No outlet by the bed? No worries- just plug it into a portable battery with a usb cable and it purrs all night. Speaking of purring- it provides a lovely white noise hum to drown out noises and (looking at you again, husband) snoring spouses. It moves a surprising amount of air and is the perfect addition to my travel arsenal! I’m going to be sending them as gifts to my clients!

The first O2Cool fan I purchased was at a Walmart in Missouri while I was traveling. This was August 2016. I am the kind of person that needs some wind blowing on my face and some background noise to sleep. When the fan I packed broke, I purchased the O2Cool. I loved it. It finally quit working in April 2018 (3yrs 8 months) so I purchased another one on Amazon. That fan quit working in September 2019 (1yr 5 months) so I purchased it again on Amazon. This last one quit working exactly 10 months after purchasing. I bought it again on amazon in August 2020. This one lasted 2 months 10 days. I don't know if the quality of the fan has gone down over time or if the issue is the supplier on Amazon. The fans run at night while I am sleeping and work great when traveling in the US or internationally. I will look for an alternative

Well after 8 months one of the two fans that I purchased started making noises and would not start. The other fan still running without any problems. I used these fans to cool off the Zyxel NSA320 when it gets hot during the day. I like that you could tilt it and it had a strong breeze. Like other reviews had mentioned, this is probably not build to run more than a couple of hours per day. i had mine running at times 8 hours straight so that probably killed it. It would have been nice to have a low/high/off switch. ** Update: 7/12/13 For those who would like to try and fix the fan instead of just throwing it away and you think it might be the motor, try looking at RF-500TB-18280 as a replacement. Price varies on the internet.

This is the perfect little fan to have at your bed side or take with you anywhere. It's become a regular in my suitcase! Nice and quiet too.

I love it! I have it on my desk at work and use it every day. At the time of ordering we could not select the color but I got the color I wanted in fuchsia. I recommend it highly. Thanks again.
