Mulches very good
We have very mature, very large maple and ash trees on 1/3 acre and autumn is beautiful but produces many leaves. Mowing all of them with a mulching blade is just too dense on the grass and doesn't account for leaves left on the garden area. We have made mulch piles in the past and takes too long for my lazy, lack of turning the piles. This was our first year using the Worx WG430 and this is my initial opinion. 1. very easy to set up and use. It is electric so requires a long extension cord to move around the yard. 2. noisy. not more than expected, just as expected. I wear hearing protection when mowing and did with this too. Not a complaint, just an observation. 3. mulch reduction rate. I don't know how manufacturers get their 4:1, 11:1, 16:1 reduction rates, but I didn't see 11:1 mulch rate with this. I played with running a mulched load back through again and even running that through a 3rd time and got it mulched down to very fine, but I take the 11:1 "rating" like I do a wet/dry vacuum that claims to be 5 HP. This is marketing mumbo jumbo and probably isn't reliable to compare between tools. I do believe that the mulch reduction rate is acceptable for either keeping in my gardens, mulch pile or moving them to a compost site. The Worx made big whole leaves into little pieces of leaves. 4. the trim lines. I found that the Worx trims great when the trim line is new, and is progressively slower as the trim line is used and worn down. I've used line trimmers so I understand the concept. With line trimmers they bump to extend or magically extend as they are worn away. With the Worx there is no extending as they wear away. You have to stop your work and replace the pre-cut, pre-measured trimmer lines. The machine came with Worx brand trim lines and there were 10-20 (I don't remember) so you can get started and really get a lot of mulching done with what comes in the box, but you will change them out and maybe quicker than you expected. The changing of the lines is very easy and quick. I have a 350' spool of .080 string trimmer line and using one of the Worx lines, I cut a whole stack of proper length lines and used them in the Worx. I did not see any difference in durability while using my .080 string trimmer line vs the trimmer line that came with the Worx. 5. Stores compactly. 6. I found the paper bag adapter COMPLETELY useless. It went immediately into the garbage since I could not think of a way to repurpose it. I used contractor grade garbage bags that worked great and if I needed to use the paper lawn bags then I could just pour the leaves out of the contractor bags into the paper bags, easier than trying to use the paper bag adapter. After the first season of use, I am very happy for the purchase. It seems durable, easy to use, and does the job (the one job it is intended to do) well. Still have to rake or blow them into a pile and lift them into the machine. I would recommend this for a medium size yard (again my lot is 1/3 acre with 8 very mature trees, 18"-40" diameter base).

Works great! Few key things though...
First off, if you have a lot of leaves to deal with I can't imagine not getting one of these. It is great!! But to get the most out of it here are a few things to pay attention to: Shredding Performance - For me, it shreds about 95-98% of what I put into it. The other 2-5% somehow misses getting shredded. I say this because when you look at the output you will still see some whole or partial whole leaves. However, most of what it produces is fine fragments. I can't tell you the exact reduction % but I can say that it is a MASSIVE reduction and don't doubt the numbers the MFG states. Dumping Leaves - You can't just dump and dump into it. You have to dump and then pause and then dump again. The cadence isn't quite a fast as I would like, if it was 30-40% faster it would be perfect. That said you still can get through huge piles of leaves very quickly, but the pausing is noticeable. If you are finding you are having to fuss with getting the leaves through you are likely putting too many in at once or putting them in too fast. Stand or Not To Stand - I didn't use the stand and instead stuck it on a 32 gallon round garbage can. It sits on it perfectly and then is easy to deal with when you need to empty it. Maybe the legs are good but I didn't want to mess with them, plus I can easily dump them in the compost area and in my yard debris bin. Also I read multiple people talking about how it does't fit a normal leaf bag, so what would be the point anyway? In the instructions, which aren't great but not terrible, it appears you are supposed to roll the top of the bag down to get it to fit?? Why not just make the legs longer? Anyway, I am using the 32 gallon can and it is great. Noise - It is loud, but not incredibly loud. I would recommend wearing some sort of hearing protection though as hearing damage is cumulative. Mess - It is a little messy but not terrible. If you are just doing your work outside, and say not inside your garage, who cares about some leaf pulp around the shredder? But I suppose if you are shredding leaves in an area where some spillage of shredded leaves will be a problem you might be annoyed. Twine - Finally this thing is essentially an upside down weed whacker. The plastic twine they use with it I had read did not hold up. I have done two sessions with leaves and light twigs. Each session I filled the 32 gallon can about 5 times. I am still going strong on the original twine that came attached. I did get the plastic coated metal twine that was recommended in a different review, but I am not sure what the others were doing to need to change it out so quickly. But if someone cares, I got the Anleolife Round Heavy Duty .095-Inch-by-190-ft Steel String Trimmer Line in Donut. Again, haven't needed to try it, but this is what someone else had said fit and could be a stronger replacement. OVERALL - Super happy with the purchase. If you are someone who has to spend multiple days each year dealing with leaves you owe it to yourself to get this thing. It is a great tool from the firs time using it, in fact my neighbors all borrow this thing and we are trading it around, LOL

Better than Black and Decker. Worth it
A lot better mulcher than Black & Decker. Even though B&D has metal blades, it takes awhile to mulch vacuuming the leaves through a tube and then messing with the hose attachment to a trash can for large projects. The Worx works a lot faster and following recommendations from others: use a 33 gallon Home Depot heavy duty black trash bag to collect. The funnel lid is a joke to cinch onto the tub. One connector broke but it doesn’t matter, a seal isn’t necessary since most dust will fly around anyway. Once you click the lid on, don’t take it off ever to prevent it from being broken. It can be stored in its original box with the lid on. I recommend wearing an N95 and safety googles and Noise reduction for your ears. It’s very loud. I use the pro lines instead of the supplied, buy thicker and it will last longer. I buy the “Husqvarna Titanium Force 0.095-Inch, 140-Foot Spooled String Trimmer Line”. It won’t lasts if you have branches but replacing the lines isn’t that hard. I use a snow shovel and rake to scoop the leaves. You will learn how much to pile in. If it’s a lot, you will have to use your rake to push the leaves through. If it’s just right, the leaves will be mulched in an instant. You will notice when the line gets halfway, there’s left over leaves around the basin. To not throw away good line left over, just shorten one end enough for one line and not two like a trimmer. It still works. Happy Mulching. :) I have a lot of leaves and this is a game changer for me despite an obvious design flaw in the funnel design, plastic clip and not metal clips and using line trimmer instead of metal blades like B&D. This pays itself in one season instead of someone else gathering up your leaves. I use the mulched leaves and spread it on my lawn to fertilize it naturally.

Buen servicio a domicilio.
