For heavier mugs you should use the screws. I used smaller ones in my cabinets so I could patch them after I move. This was perfect for me as a renter with an average size kitchen. Super sticky and sturdy. Very forgiving adhesive incase you don't get it set the first time. Decent size for all my odds and ends. Very simple installation. Very functional for me. For light weight plastic or acrylic cups I'd say you don't need the screws. But it depends on your placement. Overall very satisfied.

This was a great purchase for my coffee bar. It holds my heaviest mugs with no problem. Great buy. I did try the “no drill” method they provided first and while it was okay for a couple of weeks, it started pulling away from the wall. I changed it to the drill method also provided and it works great. If you have lightweight mugs, the no drill will be good, mine were just too heavy.

I bought this product to use as an alternative for a coffee mug rack, due to the lack of space in my apartment. I specifically chose this product because it had the option to use the strong adhesive vice drilling holes into the wall. I was looking for something that was renter friendly… it ended up being quite the opposite. Unfortunately, this will not hold up more than two mugs without pulling the adhesive and the paint along with it off of the wall. If you do not plan on using more than two mugs on each rack then I would recommend this product however, if you are a coffee, fiend like myself, and have way too many mugs… I would recommend securing this into the wall. I live in a school bus and don't have a lot of space so when I first bought this I didn't think it would fit all of my coffee cups on it because they're all different size and shapes but to my surprise it fit every single coffee cup I have on it all the extra big ones to the tiny ones to the thick ones to the tall ones.

It’s strong and looks nice

If you need to use the adhesive to hang these they will not be strong enough to hold your mugs. I have three mugs on each rack and the adhesive is completely pulling away from the cabinet wall. And these are cabinets that I cannot screw into so the adhesive was a plus for me. I would not recommend these at all. Also I was hoping that you would be able to hang them by the handles and it would look cute but they stick out too far in the air it looks really dumb.

Dosent hold all ceramic mugs with the sticky pads sadly but still a good product
