A decided to replace the water pump. I still had a coolant leak. After attempting to fix other potential issues, I finally decided to see if the water pump was still leaking. I took it off and immediately noticed the plastic propeller guard/shroud was broke, also the gasket is terrible (dries up after being heated up and doesn’t create a proper seal).I tried getting ahold of the seller (perhaps this is just one unfortunate part) and was told I have to request refunds/replacement with Amazon. It’s after 30 days so Amazon will not help me. Because the water pump looks fine on the surface, I assumed it was good and spent time trying to find issues elsewhere, this time spent elsewhere ruined my chances at getting a replacement/refund because I assumed it was fine since it was brand new. I work on my car in my spare time on the weekends, 30 days is not enough time for parts that require hours to change (and the extra money spent draining coolant and refilling).I know OEM costs more, but this was a valuable lesson to stick with OEM, and usually they have legit warranties too.I assume this water pump on Amazon will now be deleted and reposted since this review will potentially dampen sales.
