So let's say that it is Friday. I have a lot of errands to run--bank, manicure, pedicure, facial, grocery store, blah, blah, blah. But I also must wash my hair. No problem KeraCare Natural Textures Defining Custard will help define those beautiful curls and have me out of the house in no time at all. After I wash, moisturize and seal with Shea butter, I section my hair and apply as needed. Wowza! My hair performs some weird sort of magic and curls up instantly. With minimal styling and accessorizing, I am finish. When I first used this, I applied too much and my hair became flaky when it dried. Now, I am not as greedy. I prefer this to other products because while it dries somewhat firm, it is not as drying as some of the gels that I have tried. Also, once in, you cannot pick at it--although I generally touch up the edges and disobedient strands from time to time. Last week, I performed a test to see how long this product would hold up in my hair. It lasted 4 days with each day loosening up a little more than the day before. By the forth day, it was time to wash. My hair cannot take products in it for long periods of time. Night Care is easy. I part vertically in 2 sections and tie with holders. In the morning, I spritz with water/oil combination and scrunch as needed. Love this stuff.

I usually don't write reviews but this product is so great I had to. I saw this product in a buzzfeed article and I was looking for a curl definer so I gave it a try. I have a mixture of 3c, 4a, and 4b hair with zero talent when it comes to doing hair and even less patience lol. After washing my hair I put my leave in conditioner and sectioned off my hair in thirds I scooped some with my fingertips and just raked it through. My coils have never looked so good! My hair looks really healthy and juicy. A few pieces of my hair feels a little "crunchy" but most of it is very soft. A MUST BUY!

I have been looking for a custard that actually brought out the natiral curl of my hair without being gumpy or gooey or flaky when dry, and this is IT!! This custard goes on smooth, so you do not need gobs of it to get the job done. I found that creating small sections of hair, then applying by raking my coated fingers through my hair did the trick. I love the soft and shiny curls it creates and it lasts a few days, just spritz to re activate and you are good to go.

This was my first time trying this product. Currently, my hair is short to my shoulders and I have thick hair. I dye my hair black every month. My hair is wavy but I was not able to get my waves back until this product. I tried using with wet and then less wet hair. It works with both but the outcome is different. Because I like it wavier, now I dry my hair a little longer. I only need to slightly touch my fingers in the product and this small amount is good for one third of my bid head. Then, I repeat another two times to cover all my head. So little product you will need and so much good! It is amazing! You can use your fingers to enhance your curls without having to use blower, which I do not like using anyway because I do not want my gear looking dry. My hair is getting a wet look that does not look or feel oily. Not even your hands feel oily. This may last me a very long time.

This product will help define curls ......... The downside is it requires an excessive amount to achieve this look while leaving your hair hard, crunchy and in dire need of moisture. Will not purchase again.

Great product

I spent years trying to find the perfect curl defying gel/cream and I came across this custard and I haven’t looked back! I love the consistency, smell and performance. I put it after I have cleaned my hair and put leave in conditioner. I do it in small sections until all the hair is well coated and scrunch the crust out when it’s dried. What you’re left with are beautiful well defined curls that last all day long! A must buy for curly hair.

It's a fantastic product as for years I struggled to find the right one for my hair. I m white and my hair is curly like Shakira (the singer) 's hair. All the products used to be too sticky or greasy, the one keeps my curls manageable and keep my curls for 2 to 3 days! I still add an oil once they are dry to give the illusion of silkiness. I can see how the product could also work well with hair coarser than mine.
