so wanted to give it a 5
The product was great!!! It kept the hot water piping hot for ages, was extremely impressed as I drink gallons of tea and always end up re boiling the kettle at least twice. Sadly when filling it up one morning I noticed that some of the inner coating had started to peal off. with no visible damage to the exterior this must be one that got by quality control.

Excellent heat-retaining kettle for tea ceremonies - versatile, colorful, leak-proof
Heat retention: It’s not a vacuum flask, but it gets impressively close. If I fill it with boiling water around 188 °F (87 °C) first thing in the morning, it still reads about 150 °F (65 °C) by early evening at normal room temperature. That eight-hour drop is perfect for brewing oolongs or greens without reheating. Build & portability: The lid seals snugly, the spout pours cleanly, and after months of daily use I haven’t seen a single leak - no drips in a backpack or on the desk. The handle stays cool and balanced, so carrying it between rooms is easy. Looks: I’ve picked up several colors now because the matte finish is beautiful and helps me match the kettle to different tea setups. Friends always ask where I found them. Bottom line: A reliable, heat-savvy kettle that moonlights as décor. If you need something that holds temperature well without the bulk of a thermos, grab one (or three). Highly recommended.

Top Notch Carafe
I will preface this with, in our household a carafe for coffee is an ESSENTIAL item. We drink french press coffee and a lot of it. We absolutely need a carafe to keep our coffee at peak performance! It finally came time to replace the German manufactured carafe we have been using for 10+ years. I read some of the complaints before we purchased this and wanted to share our experience. First of all, the fit and finish on this carafe is spot on. Overall the design is aesthetically pleasing. I chose the black and silver model. It appears to be powder coated and is definitely scratch resistant. The lid fits firmly with little to no wiggle and gaps. It is most definitely a VACUUM carafe. You do have to tilt to 90° to pour, but don't see this as a problem. The push button to pour, located on the handle, functions exactly as it should. This feature was a major deciding factor in the purchase (as well as it's size). It holds 68 ounces, as labeled. As for holding temperature, we ran a test on it. Here are the results: 175.2° F @ start 168.1° F @ 1 hour 156.3° F @ 2 hours 146.1° F @ 4 hours 131.5° F @ 8 hours 120.0° F @ 12 hours I am pleased with these results. Especially since we finish our coffee in the 1 to 2 hour range. I took the temperature with a probe thermometer and opened the carafe every time to test it. In doing that, it obviously lost temperature faster than it would have if I just poured a cup and tested it. I am definitely not a scientist and realized my testing mistake about 8 hours in. I will also note I didn't preheat the carafe with hot water. I am sure that would enhance the results. All in all, for the price and the quality, I would recommend this Ideus thermal carafe. I will update this post if there are any major items that arise.

A lot of coffee.
Drips but keeps coffee hot.

Great carafe!
We prefer this type of carafe to the others due to the top being pressed down and not screwed on. Doesn’t leak! Easy to pour. Lasts longer than other carafes we have used. It is a bit heavier than the other carafes we have at used.
