Review: A much needed accessory at very good price - I much needed accessory, at very good price. Well built, and well precision. This comes handy if you are trying the economize your budget by avoiding buy of multiple filters for multiple lens. Beware that these are not thin rings, and if you do not have thin filters it may add some vignette in very wide angles. However I did not experience this at 18mm (DX format), but I think you should test it on 8 or 11 mm wide angle lens. The bonus is, if you stack all these rings, it acts like a lens good :) Off course not like a real one. I am happy with the quality of these rings. Please note - these are step-Up rings. That means once you put a ring on the lens, the next attachment (eg a filter) should be of higher diameter. I think that is very useful. Say you have a 62 mm polarizer, you may use it in you 52mm diameter lens or 55 mm diameter lens, thous avoid buying individual filters for individual lens. However, keep in mind to protect your lens glass its always a good idea to keep a filter attached in each. In desertcart there is also Step-Down filter, and I really do not find a use of those because it will add vignette. So I specifically bought the step up filter and not the setp down ones.
Review: Good cheap step-up rings - Having invested in a B+W Graduated 502 neutral density - Filter - graduated - 77 mm as well a Hoya Moose - Filter - warm circular polarizer - 72 mm , I didn't want to buy duplicates in other filter sizes. This isn't an uncommon conundrum, thus step-up rings were created. They can come in all sizes and thicknesses as well as materials, but needing a cheap and comprehensive solution, I sought out a bundle such as this. With that in mind, I ordered the Fotodiox rings, and they arrived the next day. Since I was leaving for a 2 week vacation, I threw them in my bag before giving them a try in a more controlled environment. I primarily used the 72mm - 77mm ring, which allowed my Nikon 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6 G ED-IF AF-S VR DX Zoom-Nikkor Lens to use the 77mm grad ND filter (a boon with the ever-present Norwegian sun). This combination worked without any issues, but the step-up ring seemed more inclined to want to cross threads than I'm used to. This seemed to not happen as much in subsequent installation. Some vignetting was seen, and when I added the polarizer in a stack, the corners were black until 35mm. This isn't entirely due to the step-up ring, as both filters are somewhat thick, but there definitely are thinner step up rings (for a higher cost). Going from 67mm-72mm-77mm worked, as my 67mm lens is a full frame tele lens ( Nikon 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6G ED IF AF-S VR Zoom Nikkor Lens for Nikon Digital SLR Cameras ), and I can imagine the somewhat thick nature of these step up rings causing an issue on DX wide angle lenses. All told, I'm glad I bought these rings, but if you're looking for the absolute best solution (especially for wide angle lenses), look elsewhere.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great product, particular for casual user at this price range
*by B***H on April 2, 2012*

I'm an ameature photographer with a D90 and 3 lenses. I decided to take advice I'd read and been given and stop buying various size filters and use step up rings to standardize around 77mm filters. This doesn't seem like a big deal if you are buying $15 filters, but once you start buying $50 filters (or more!) then the thought does occur to you that this could get expensive (hey... if you want a cheap hobby, get out of photography!). I've used these on a 52mm lens and on a 67mm, with filters of varying sizes up to 77mm (my new standard size). My thoughts are that they are reasonably well manufactured rings. Quite light but sturdy. Some people have written about problems with them becoming jammed together. My advice on that is to remember that these rings are just a mount for your filter... they are not holding your car engine in place. Tighten accordingly :-). I've been tightening them just to the point of resistance and have had no problems in 20+ uses. I've also read that the threads are small and hard to use. While I can see how people could become frustrated and damage the threads, if you use a reasonable degree of patience you'll be fine. My technique is to hold them gently together and turn them a little as if I was undoing the thread, then reverse to screw them together... perhaps going back and forth gently a couple of times to "seat" the threads together before I get them together. In any case, at the price of these little babies, you could afford to get a couple of sets and still be way out in front compared to the cost of buying multiple filters. I don't give out a 5 star review very easily but in this case I see no reason to hold back. There are much more expensive German made items on the market that may be more durable and quicker to thread than these, but for a guy with a family and a budget, these rings are great.
