A: I am not sure of the capacity. It is quite a lot. I use it for brown rice and quinoa. The ratio is 1 1/4 cups more water than rice (2 cups rice, 3 1/4 cups water; 5 cups rice, 6 1/4 cups water, etc.) and it comes out perfect every time. I believe for white rice it is 1/2 cup more water than rice, the brown rice requires more water. I tried to make from instructions using the lines in the cooker but that wasn't accurate so I use this ratio and it is perfect. Hope this helps.

**Q: What is the measurement of the cup that comes with the cooker?**
A: The above answer is NOT correct: (3/4 Cup or 135ml). That is the last gradient you see embossed in the "cup" but the cups "full" purpose is to be exactly at level (completely full, not heaping) witch equates to exactly 180ml (1 gō). This is done on purpose as it applies to the Japanese cuisine standard of measurement being 1 gō in volume, which is the standard for one serving of rice or sake. In US measurement it equates to approximately 3/4 cup.

Awesome rice cooker. It looks stylish, clean and goes well with my other kitchen gadgets. The size is just right and it does not take much of the counter space. My kids can use it on their own as it is very simple to use, and you really cannot go wrong with it. I only use it for rice but am very happy i purchased this cooker, no more watching rice cook and making sure it does not burn. The "keep warm" function is extremely useful and cleaning the cooker is a breeze.
