It works like gangbusters at getting the impacted debris to break up and work its way out of the ear canal...that’s the brownish-blackish gunk. When the ears are bad, they can be red from the inflammation, which is why dogs scratch and shake their heads. It’s painful! After several days, there should be less gunk coming out and the redness should subside. Just wipe around the outside of the ear to clean off the wax debris that comes out, but don’t use any other “cleaners” when using Zymox or you risk killing the helpful enzymes.
