Great tension tool!
This is a top quality tension tool. Easy to use, just follow the directions. Not cheap but very accurate. You get what you pay for.

Works great for getting belts to the correct tension. It's very easy to use, just kind of bulky so it can be hard to get it in tight areas. You can leave it on the belt while adjusting the tightness, making it really easy to get it to the right tension. s

Great tool but expensive and large
This is definitely the most accurate way to get the tension of an accessory belt. Compared to the Kriket style gauge, its no contest. I did back to back tests with this and the Kriket, and the Kriket was all over the place depending where you placed it on the belt and how far you depressed it. This had accurate precise readings every time. That being said, its hugely expensive and so large that I needed to remove the undertray of my car (a 45 minute process) in order to use it.

Very well made. Accepts thick serpentine belts.
Great tool perfectly sets tension. Far better than thumb pressure and a ruler. One reviewer says it only opens to 1/16 inch. Not true. There is a lot of spring tension in this device. You have to give the tool a firm squeeze to get it to open it up. Too bad the reviewer wasn't strong enough to use this tool. Very well made. Takes only a second to use. Have used hundreds of times over past 5 years.

You need it as a Automotive Tech
When I first started, the Sears automotive tech technician instructor told us that we needed one of these. Well after five years of ignoring that great advice I finally bought one and realized that I have been a moron and I shouldโve bought one five years ago.

Works as it should for a good price, but large and difficult to fit into tight area.
Works as should and a nice tool, but found it very difficult to fit into the area I was working. It is much larger then the others I have used, took some figuring out to pull off more engine parts to make it fit, but in the end, it got the job done.
