The sponge lathers well, is soft but gently exfoliates & is exactly what I was looking for in a natural alternative. I hated using loofahs it just felt like microplastics scratching my skin, plus the waste. I have been on a journey for many years trying to find ways to leave less of a carbon footprint on the planet. Wash rags was an obvious swap for the loofah, but they just flop around everywhere in my small hands, you have to use 10x more soap, and I never felt like they were doing a good job. These are hard at first, you get them wet and they will expand and soften (a little jelly-like feeling at first) then when you add soap to them it emulisifys well and does a great job. I love that they are biodegradable, and that they dry up so they aren't holding the moisture /bacteria, and they have zero smell.
