SSP Multi-Purpose (Unimodal) Espresso Grinding 64mm Flat Burrs (Red Speed Coated)

I’ve just upgraded my espresso machine from a Quick Mill Silvano to a Decent. A part of me wanted to upgrade my modified doserless SJ to a lower retention Lagom P64, but honestly, that felt like a costly cross-grade benefiting from really only better burrs and workflow. I’ve decided to save my money and go the route of less resistance by buying these SSP multi-purpose burrs and taking the time to align them. The photos show the alignment of the rotor’s burr, but I assure you the collar burr looked the same; just can’t find my photo taken a few months back. Anyways, I’ve had the chance to go through roughly ~10 lbs of coffee through this setup, and have found the body is not as thick as factory burrs, but a bit more pleasant for me. If you’re into lighter roast coffee like washed Ethiopians, this is the burr for you. I really enjoy this setup for my daily routine. Now, milk drinks are still pretty good, but may lack the body some may sought after. To me, for espresso drinks, I find this burr set really shines for espresso on ice, and espresso and tonic.

This was such a huge improvement in my espresso and pourover enjoyment over my Baratza grinders (Sette 270w and Virtuoso+). The grind consistency and flavor clarity it can produce is unbeatable. I am extremely pleased and satisfied with this upgrade. The installation was as simple as removing 3 screws for each burr and reassemble with the same screws. Ensure to have them aligned as best as possible or it could impact grind quality.

I added these to a DF64 Turin grinder the E model. Big difference in quality and also the amount of time it takes to reach your desired dose.

These burrs are nice, but difficult to get the right grind size, you need to do very light turns to get the correct grinding.

This is the best upgrade to any flat burr grinder. Easy to install on a Fellow Ode, and improves my coffee hugely. Worth the money!

Was surprised at how much flavor this opened up in the pour over we make. Best coffee I've ever had and it's consistent. Install was easier than most reviews seem to make it. Plenty of videos to help, just take your time and clean the machine well as you disassemble.

I bought the Fellow Ode Gen 2 Grinder on Amazon, and also the SSP burrs. I tried to make the burr change myself but failed. Changing burrs is the easy part, but doing the calibration was complicated and did not work. Call Fellow Help Desk to make sure you're using the right one of their three different installation guidelines.

Transformed my Super Jolly. I had stopped using it for filter (was using hand grinder instead) but with these burrs it is really fantastic. So clean and clear.

I put these into my DF64 grinder 2 years ago now, and the difference was noticeable immediately. The grind is more even with fewer fines, and the coffee I have made with them over the last couple of years has far more clarity than the stock burrs. It was a struggle picking which burrs to go with, and I'm happy I settled on the unimodal since I make both espresso and filter often, and these handle everything sweet as! Installing them was quick and easy - if you have the patience, you can level them perfectly with shims too. Would 100% recommend if you want to level up your coffee without spending thousands on a more expensive grinder or machine.

Ordered a set to replace the factory burrs in my Fellow ode gen 1. Interestingly Fellow and SSP both state that these burrs won't fit based on the serial number, but they did perfectly. After the first coffee, I had to realise it wasn't the beans that I was getting lately, it was the burrs. I can enjoy coffee again.
