Excellent Battery
I purchased this to have a backup for when I was conducting long shoots. I have found that I typically do not use both batteries on most shoots. Actually, I've found that I will fill up 40gb worth of SDHC cards before I switch out batteries when I'm shooting RAW+JPG on my Nikon D7000 . Nikon gives a couple of different ratings for how many shots you can get on a full charge with this battery. Testing according to the CIPA standard show this battery can take 1,050 shots on a single charge. Under these test conditions the room temperature is 73.4 degrees Fahrenheit (+/- 3.6 degrees). A Nikon 18-105mm lens is used. The focus is moved from infinity to minimum focus and a shot is taken every 30 seconds. The on board Speedlight flash is fired every other shot. This does not use live view. Nikon's own test conditions yield much better numbers per charge. At 68 degrees Fahrenheit with a Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8 VRII lens and an image quality of JPG basic, medium. The shutter release is pressed halfway down and the focus is cycled from infinity to minimum range three times. Six shots are taken in a burst at 1/250 of a second shutter speed. The LCD monitor is then turned on for five seconds then turned off. This is repeated once the exposure meter has turned off. Nikon's own test conditions yielded approximately 4,500 shots per charge. This truly incredible. I have easily taken more than 800 to 1000 shots on a charge. A big part of the number of shots I get is how much I review them on the LCD. This is the largest drain of power. Even though this battery has an amazing life, I would suggest picking up a second. If you have two batteries you should be able to charge both the night before a big shoot and then when you swap them out, place the empty one on the charge. In about 2.5 hours, the empty battery will be refreshed. If you are not shooting 800 photos in 2.5 hours, you should be fine. If you are shooting that many photos or anywhere close to it, you should consider having two or three spare batteries and a Nikon MB-D11 Multi-Power Battery Pack that takes AA batteries in a jam. Overall, I would recommend you purchase at least one spare to keep in your bag. Its great to have when you need it and there is nothing more disappointing than not being able to take photos when the moment happens. -Cheers!

This battery is a work horse
This is a great battery to use and own. Matter of fact, I own 4 of them. By day, I'm fashion photographer. One the weekend, I shoot my neighbor's girls volleyball team with my Nikon D800 when I have time. The volleyball games usually start at 7:30 AM, and depending on if the team wins a lot of loses, the games can last from 4PM or until 8PM. On a typical day, I can shoot well over 900 images, Raw + JPEGs. A fully charged battery can usually last me until about 5PM, depending on how much I shoot. If the games go very long, then I usually have a spare with me. This battery is really a work horse. I own 4 of them, because one is always in my camera. And one is always being charged in an outlet. I shoot in studio and outside, so I keep the other two in my carry bag for when I shoot outside with my backup camera, which is also a Nikon D800. Once depleted, these batteries take nearly 2 and half hours to recharge. I've had 2 of these batteries since 2012 and they are still going strong and I'm very pleased with them.

Stellar Performance
The original genuine Nikon batteries are actually worth it, unlike some of their other accessories (example: D800 battery grip MB-D12 for $350, D800 cable remote cable release for $100). I've put them through 2 years of usage in my D7000 + 3rd party battery grip, I've run them down to 0% charge and recharged them, and I've left them in the camera in sub-freezing temperatures. Typically I usually get ~800 photos off of one battery in my D7000, given my settings and usage (LCD time on, meter on duration, etc.), autofocus for practically all of my shots. As an extreme case, I've used two of these batteries (with one in the battery grip) for some night time lapses on Mauna Kea, which typically reaches below 0 Celsius at night. My settings were 30 sec. exposures, ISO 6400, image review off, 33 sec. intervals, and I was able to take 1400+ images with both batteries. Pretty amazing considering the cold temperatures.

seems to perform exactly like a Nikon battery for roughly half the price
I suspect these batteries are knock offs. The box and the battery have holograms but, the box is just slightly crude and the battery tip protector is just a little bit different from that on the battery that came with the camera. But, it works precisely the same in the camera, saying "new" battery, with 0 age, and the correct amount of charge left. There are other slight differences on the back of the battery. My original battery said Li-ion01 and this one says Li-ion 2, etc. But, what I want is something that performs the same in the camera, and this by all counts so far, fits the bill. I bought another EN-EL15 Clone on Amazon that was 2 for $23. These simply would not power my D7000 so I had to return them. This battery, on the other hand, seems to perform exactly like a Nikon battery for roughly half the price. Good enough for me.

It is a very good battery made by Nikon. This EN-EL 15 battery is compatible with Nikon D800, D7100, D7000 etc cameras. The battery gives almost 800-900 shots in a normal usage conditions unless you use built in flash of the camera. The battery is a genuine made by Nikon and at this rate it is a very good deal from amazon compared to conventional local market vendors.

Perfecto.
