Most people are wondering.... does it really work as good as they say? The simple answer is YES! The only complaint I’ve read is that the adhesive of the 3M tape used to stick it to the porcelain bowl and toilet lid doesn’t stay stuck. Well... there’s good reason why it might not. Imagine trying to stick a hard cold minimally flexing padded sticker to an even colder non-porous surface like a toilet bowl; it’s not going to work. The solution is very simple. Warm both surfaces and get those molecules nice and happy!!! I simply used a lighter and warmed up the stickers pretty well before removing the paper so that I could apply them to the CLEAN surfaces. It was also vital to warm the porcelain on the toilet as well. Nothing is going to want to stick to a cold and possibly condensation covered surface. Do these steps and your biggest problem will be getting the 3M tape off once you feel you don’t need these anymore.

I followed all directions and used the template, and it only stuck on the actual toilet for a day and a half before falling off. It's still stuck on the lid but is unusable without the other half.

My 16 month old wouldn’t stop trying to play in the toilet. Kids....am I right? -___- Let me just say...the decoy button feature is amazing and my favorite thing about this product because it’s genius... but not only did it stop his obsession with opening the toilet lid, he is now obsessed with LOCKING IT and doesn’t even attempt to play in it anymore. So honestly this product did everything I could’ve asked for and more. For install, I used a hair dryer to warm up the stickers and the toilet bowl a little before applying just to be sure it’d definitely stick. Definitely recommend!!

These are okay in terms of matching what they are being used for and ease of unlatching. However, the stickiness of the adhesive was problematic and resulted in the latch coming off so many times, despite following the directions. I am not sure it is doing a lot of good with a lack of adhesion. I think it might just depend on the toilet shape so if it’s more flat, I think it would stick better perhaps. Overall, good product but missing some key pieces that would make it a standout.

They work well and my 15-month old has not been able to figure them out (yet..lol). But I would suggest moving it more to the side of the toilet bowl, not near the front where the instructions suggest, or else it’ll hit your legs every time you sit down & my husband says it gets in the way in the front when he stands.

I had been using the regular Safety 1st appliance locks on my toilets because that’s what I had lying around; however, after too many cleanings, they’d eventually come loose loose and pop off. I decided to try this product after I finally ran out of replacements. What I love about this one is the fact that the strap swings down and out of the way when the toilet is in use. But, like some of the other reviewers, I had difficulty getting it to adhere completely flush due to the curvature of my toilet bowl. No matter how much pressure I applied, there remained a significant gap at the bottom. It likely would be only a matter of time before it popped off. My solution? Seal the entire perimeter with silicone sealant/caulk. Not only did it fill the bottom gap, now it will protect from moisture seeping into the adhesive. I’m confident that this simple and fairly inexpensive solution will extend the life of this product. I hope this tip helps! - An increasingly handy mom with a very crafty, safety-averse special needs toddler 8/7/2022 update: My caulk/sealant trick has unfailingly held this in place. However, due to frequent daily use, the lock itself is starting to break down—both the rubber exterior and the internal locking mechanism. This is to be expected given how rough my family is on most household items, and I’d venture to say that this item lasted longer than most. I happily ordered a replacement.

This worked for a little while but once my toddler learned his insane strength it was game over, the 3M tape does not stick very well my toddler pulled it off no problem and after 4 times it was over and won’t stick anymore

Our toddler started playing with toilet seats and LOVES water and we didn’t want her messing with the water so we purchased this lock. It’s easy to install and easy to use without the kid learning what we’re doing to it to get it open herself but it wouldn’t stay stuck to the toilet. I tried it on the flattest spot of the side and no dice, the next flattest spot was too far to reach up to the seat. Ended up just throwing it away. Don’t waste your money unless you have one of those nice flat wall toilets

Tengo un hijo de 1 año y medio que siempre se intereso demasiado por el inodoro, queriendo meter la mano, juguetes, etc. Con este cierre no me preocupo mas. Estoy viendo bastante gente que dice que sus hijos lo abren fácilmente. Lo que me pregunto es si no los han enseñado sin querer cómo se hace. Porque los niños son muy observadores. Otros cierres que he comprado de la marca son bastante difíciles de abrir, requieren no solo coordinación fina sino también un toque de fuerza - este no requiere fuerza, es bien blando y se abre fácil una vez que sabes dónde apretar. Por eso me pregunto los que los abren si los mismos padres no les han mostrado sin querer.

Had a hard time getting it to stick and then it fell off that night and would not stay on.

No sirvieron para nada! En la tapa del wc pego perfecto pero en el wc no pega absolutamente nada,no lo compren
