Super simple, smooth operation, any foot ascender is a game changer if you’re just adding mechanical components to your system. Good quality, grabs my rope well, good value overall.

Thought it was missing from order--found it!

replaced my CMI with a CT, much smoother, easier to adjust and it stays tight. rope does not kick out like some other models. Buy professional products, saving a buck isn't worth injury.

Performance wise I'd say it holds up. My only recommendation is that you would need to have another supporting ascender and potentially a harness that can keep your upper body close to the rope.

I am a recreational tree climber. When tree climbing, I often use a foot ascender. I bought the Quick Step to check it out after seeing its high user review rating. I think two things are key when using a foot ascender. First, it needs to be easy to attach and detach the foot ascender to the rope. In particular, it should be easy to remove it from the rope. Second, the foot ascender should glide smoothly up the rope as you move your foot up when climbing. Based on the first criterion, the Quick Step is not difficult to attach to the rope, but it is not easy to remove the foot ascender from the rope: you have to push the lever on the ascender down and pull it to the side, which is not easy. Secondly, I use a relatively stiff rope. The Quick Step doesn't slide smoothly through the rope, so I have to try a second or third time or grab the rope with one hand and drag it down. These two things make it hard to rate the Quick Step highly. It's not as good as my other foot ascender, the Notch Jet Step. The Jet Step works very well on both counts.

Excellent build quality. Bought this after buying a cheap knock-off that failed in use. CT products are well made and respected in the climbing community. Don’t be tempted to buy cheap knock off products, your safety is worth it.
