It's total length is roughly 6". The lanyard didn't work well for my needs so I removed it, including the split ring, and replaced it with a Key-Bak Mini-Bak Retractable Reel with 36-inch Nylon Cord, Swivel Bulldog Clip and Split Ring for $5.99 from Amazon.
