Now I see why more expensive turntables are worth buying. This one is pretty cheap… totally helpful but not the most sturdy. I think a metal one would be AMAZING if I continue to need one. My son recently turned 3 and had a space themed birthday. I wanted to make him a Galaxy cake with swirled frosting. I absolutely suck at frosting cakes so I hoped a turntable would help. This set also came with the spatula/knife things I kept seeing people use on YouTube! I baked my two 6” round cakes and let them cool. I wanted to do a crumb coat to protect it overnight, and hopefully make it easier to frost. The flat white scrapers were great for smoothing out the sides. I used the longer “flat knives” (forgot what they’re called) to spread it out on top. After leaving it in the fridge overnight, I attempted swirling other colors together and smoothed it all out. Honestly, for my first attempt, I think it turned out great! Obviously I need some practice, especially with making the top smooth & crisp. A few things went wrong. The turntable doesn’t turn very smoothly or quickly; it’s really rough and choppy feeling. I had to really push it to get it to turn, and ended up digging into the cake with my scraper a lot. My cake also slid around LIKE CRAZY. Someone told me to put a wet paper towel under the cake. It helped a little but still moved around. I had it on a cardboard cake board. I considered glueing it down with frosting on the turntable… 😅 The tools and accessories all clean up easily. I threw some of the stuff (including the turn table) in the dishwasher. I recommend getting this for the accessories it comes with, and to see if this is something you enjoy using! If you do…. Great! Get a more expensive one later on. If you’re a pro, this will seem like something from the dollar store. Hope this helps! 🎂

I’m no baker, but this cake decorating turntable and utensil set made it easy to create a pretty cool cake for my one-year-old’s birthday. Turns smoothly light weight and easy to clean.

It's pretty sturdy and easy to clean. Turns real good and smooth. Spatulas are both strong and easy to use. Cutting tool u have to get used to using it, but once u do, u can cut cake as easy as a piece of cake.

The price was reasonable for what was included in the set. I purchased primarily for the turntable and for some of the edging tools. The table itself is okay. It's a bit flimsy and not weighted at all. As such, it doesn't spin smoothly or consistently, making the use of any edging tools pretty pointless. You will not get a professional finish with the aid of THIS particular turntable as you have to turn by hand in partial turns. Some other tables out there allow you to set the table spinning and it does so at a consistent pace with the occasional turn needed. This does not do that. Since its not weighted, if you attempted to apply extra force for a longer spin, your table AND cake would either slide across your work surface or shift considerably, resulting in damage to the cake. It's better than nothing or if you plan to just do smaller detail work that goes a bit slower.

Love this! It spins great! I'm no cake decorator but the accessories work so good. Fun to use. Everything you need in one kit. I keep it all in the box for storage. Would recommend.

The cake splitter was bent and unusable. I made due and am happy with the rest of the kit

Bought this for my budding baker, adult daughter. She loves it and has enjoyed using it. She says it’s exactly what she needed to get better results with ease. Quality of the items is very good as well. And price point is very good. Purchasing the items individually would cost significantly more. Photo is of the first (carrot) cake she made using the kit. Not bad!

Not bad so far. Used it once and it made frosting a cake easier. My only concern is the wire cutter to go wonky at some point. You have to reshape the handle to make the wire taught. So far so good. Can’t complain for the price.

My wife uses it on a regular bases. Works great even though base is plastic. Still make well and works great. Highly recommend 👌

I chose this cake decorating set mainly for the price, knowing it might not be the best quality but wanting something inexpensive as a first-time cake decorator just in case I decide not to pursue it further. The turntable spins fairly well, though I’m sure a pricier one would be much smoother and it does feel a bit cheaply made. The spatulas are great. No complaints there! The cake cutter is phenomenal, and I love that it comes with an extra wire. I did have to make a small initial slice with a knife to get the wire started, but once it did, it slid right through effortlessly. Overall, I’d agree with the other reviews. This set is perfect for a hobby baker!
