This brush is amazing. I've used a lot of different tools over the years for deck staining, from brushes, to rollers and pads, to a sprayer, and all had good and bad features. This brush is 100% good, IMHO. The brushes I've used in the past, even the nice ones, just don't hold the stain like this, nor put it down as smoothly. This is a big brush, densely built with tens of thousands of bristles (I think - I didn't count them) and it does a superb job. Cleaning with mineral spirits was a breeze, changed three times until the solvent in the can came away clear, shook it out well, dried it gently and it was done. Some have commented that it did not work well to attach to an extension handle, which I didn't try to do. My bad, I bent back a few of the bristles staining below the bottom railing, which is a tight space, but it needed doing. I trimmed those few (8 or 10 hairs) off at the metal band and it looks brand new again. The price was a bit daunting, but it works, it cleans up extremely well, it doesn't seem to shed bristles, and, with the sturdy storage box provided, I expect to be using it for years, which makes the price a bargain. In fact, I went back and ordered the Deck Boss by Perdura as well, which is twice the price, but is bigger and designed to be used on an extension pole. No more frustrating, poorly designed pad applicators for me!

I bought this brush to stain my cedar fence based on reviews here. It comes in a very nice little box -- like fancified. The brush works VERY WELL holding stain on the brush from the bucket to the fence. And, it works VERY WELL getting the stain INTO the wood. Admittedly, I don't take great care of this brush. I should rinse in mineral spirits, then rinse in water, then hang to dry. This poor guy sits in the mineral spirits for days at a time (in between rainy days) and only when I'm going to stain again do I clean him up to use. Despite this abuse, the brush has lost not lost any of its shape, bristles, or performance. Overall, it's an excellent brush and I wouldn't hesitate to buy again if the need arises.

I've been in the deck restoration business all my life, 28 years in fact, and having a brush that holds a lot of stain and doesn't give you blisters on your hands after a full days work is important. I have gone through hundreds of brushes , this one is the best I've used. Highly recommend!

Hold stain well. Handle has wooden threads and a plastic female threads insert. The plastic fell out into brush ferrel after only one use, rendering it useless. Poorly constructed. After playing around with it i finally got handle back on, but without ability to take it back off, storage and interchanging to longer handle options are limited. Hard to clean as well.

This is the best deck staining brush I have ever used. I wish I had bought 2 of them will they were $14.95. I used it today and it leave a flawless finish when wet. I will see how it looks tomorrow dry. No streaks at all when it started to dry. I will be using it tomorrow and Monday on more decks using a paint pole this time. I most highly recommend this brush. I am not sure where it is made since there were no identifying mares on it or the box anywhere. Update: I now have bought two of these wonderful brushes.

The brush as an applicator on the planks of the deck is awesome. On my 12th, or so, dexk board, it became loose. I can not unscrew it from my stick, but it is lose within it's own cap. Though it does well on the boards, it doesn't get down in the cracks too great. Still did that with a paint brush because I hadn't purchased anything else. Overall, if it hadn't broke on me, with very minimal use, I wumould have given it a 4. A 5 star would be if it functioned great in the cracks/grooves!

Like: Holds a lot of stain and applies it smoothly. Dislikes: Handle fell off the second time I used it. Probably because of the wood thread on the handle to the plastic insert in the brush connection being a poor choice.

I used this brush to stain pool deck and was thrilled with the results! It took several days to complete the work, and each night I easily washed the brush clean as new. This brush dips easily into a gallon paint can or tray and does NOT leave brush strokes on the wood deck! I will never use rollers again and have recommended this brush to my friends because of the great results. Definitely worth every penny!
