Coleman MadDog GearATV Thumb Assist Control

bought this for my wifes 4wheeler (cfmoto 500) i showed her how to install and she had it on in less than 5 minutes. she has been using for two years now riding with it and says that its a must on all 4 wheelers for her there has been no slippage or need to readjust has stayed in place and works perfectly still. sorry it took so long to review this i forgot to come in and put in the review after initial use. but hey knowing she is still happy after two years with it should say something- I personally dont like the extenders and wife hates riding my 4wheeler without the extender. she says its so much more comfortable for her to use and her thumb doesn't get tired when we are out all day riding around.

This is the best thumb assist I have found so far. It is being used on a 2003 Honda Rancher ESP all-time 4x4. It it basically just an extension with a larger surface area on the thumb pad. I used it on my last trip to the Black Mountain are in North Carolina and it worked well. I had on there, previously, a thumb assist that made my throttle like a motorcycle throttle and that was definitely unsafe and very uncomfortable when aren't riding on a nice paved road. The MadDog Thumb Assist also works a lot better with the Kolpin Hand mitts that I have purchased and in my opinion it made it a lot safer ride wise.

These were easily installed on my can am outlanders and fit nicely. I love these while riding I can use my palm to easily operate the throttle and it eliminates fatigue and cramping. However because it sticks out you can easily hit the throttle while you are reaching or standing up for any reason. I was backing up and needed to stand up to look over the front of the atv and I hit the throttle with my leg and went for a scary short ride in reverse but luckily no one was behind and I stopped before I did any damage. Should have put it in park but we all know we do things on occasion to save time. With this option on I do things safer now in close quarters. Overall I still love these for riding but am more aware that other parts of my body can activate the throttle. Also for short tight moves move your thumb into where the original thumb throttle is and you will have more control.

Easy install and works great! My son had been complaining for a long time about his thumb hurting on long rides with the ATVs so we have to pull over and rest more. Since put this on, we actually only pull over for pee breaks now and no complaints. Can't believe it was this cheap and easy of a fix - we should have gotten one a long time ago! We are thinking of getting them for our larger ATVs too!

Great product! It's a little tricky to get the first bolt through but the other two are easy once you get it started. It helps to install it loosely until all bolts are in so you can adjust it to your desired position before securing it completely. The rubber bolt guard slides on easily and hasn't fallen off yet! The construction is solid. I don't feel like I'm going to break it and I have a tendency to break everything! It's great to have a break from holding your thumb down all the time. You can roll your hand backward a bit and use the meaty part of your hand at the base of your thumb to hold it if you desire. It's barely even noticeable. I put it on my grandpa's bike and he didn't even see it! I'll definitely keep it or buy another for my next bike!

This work ok. I initially thought it was a "flexible" one that could be bent to the shape I needed. It is not. It does extend the thumb, but not to the angle I like. I works, but I will replace it when I find the one I want.

I have been riding ATV's my whole life and I as have gotten older, sometimes my hand would cramp up or be stressed due to the reach for the thumb accelerator for long trail rides. I attached the Coleman MadDog Gear ATV Thumb Assist and it has made all the difference! I am able to ride for long periods of time without any hand cramping. My only concern is that the directions say the bolts are snap into place, but they are not and when I went to start screwing the screw in, the bolt popped out and unfortunately I could not locate it. I used a different bolt I had in my garage, but for the other 2 bolts that came with the product, I made sure to hold them in place as I screwed. Overall, great product for a great price!

This is a great product! I needed this for all the same reasons as everyone else. The cramping and muscle aches were killing me. I thought I might have to go through a few of them to find the right one but I lucked out. The product is sturdy and it totally reduces thumb fatigue. It also smoothes out throttle operation. In rocky conditions the throttle was tough to stay smooth on. No more, with this aid it smooths out nicely. When I installed it, I thought it best to position it with just a little of the out ahead of the throttle. That prooved exactly backwards. I moved it as far out as I could and its great.

Easy to install and use. Eases the strain on the thumb.

quite satisfied with this product. sizing is as expected and easy to install. would recommend it, in fact ordering another one today for my grandson. however on the last one I only received two screws and nuts to install it with. requires three.
