It comes with enough sample bags and rolled bags that it may be a long time before i have to buy replacement bags. In fact with this machine I may never have to buy bags on a roll for it. It is strong enough to vacuum seal a ziplock bag.This machine is great for marinating steaks by vacuum sealing the steak with the marinade in the bag with it. It really sucks in the marinade into the steak and makes it taste wonderful.It is great for keeping you food fresh including fruit and vegetables. It will vacuum seal just about anything. It even comes with a attachment to vacuum seal canisters. What a great way to keep beans and grandmas special marmalade fresh and preserved.It has a button to vacuum seal dry goods, it has and the button to vacuum seal moist goods, and it has a button to just seal a bag without vacuuming sealing it.It has a slide cutter on the back to evenly cut your bags to custom sizes.Use of the vacuum sealer is very simple. You select a bag or roll and use the cutter to cut the bag to the size you want with 2 inches left on the top so the sealer can get good suction. you put the food in the bag and stick the 2 inches on the top into the vacuum sealer cavity and you press firmly on both sides of the machine until you hear it click on each side. Then you press the dry or moist button and 30 seconds later it is vacuum sealed and ready for freezing.I have been wanting a vacuum sealer for a long time and just didn’t want to spend the money and then I came across this machine and I said for that price I have to have it. I made the leap and ordered it and I haven’t had to look back since.
