Q: Is it tsa compatible, i.e. will it get taken away at the airport ?

I haven’t had any issues going through TSA.

Q: Where is the orange cord keychain from in the product photos?

Those are customer submitted photos.

Q: Are the edges of this sharp enough to scrape a fire steel/ ferro rod?

The Mighty Bar isn't sharp. The edge and tip have the "Sharpness" of a ball point pen.

Q: Will TSA take it away?

No. The last time I flew, I clipped it to the outside of my carryon because I was going to argue if they tried to take it. An agent felt the edge and didn't say a word.
