This TDS meter is pre-calibrated in factory, no need calibrate again by customer, we do this to prevent as many calibration related mistakes as possible, and it's easier to use. To maintain the accuracy, it's better to rinse the probe with distilled water after each use. For your mentioned distilled water, it should read 0 ppm theoretically, but in actual application, if you can't keep test condition very clean, it may read 0-2ppm usually. **Q: Can this also check for ph ?** A: It Does not. It measure TDS , EC and Temperature 3 in 1. Clear readings and fast results. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great quality, quick and easy testing *by T***T on May 12, 2023* I have a background in chemistry and toxicology. Meter works great as expected. I tested several different sources of water going from what I expected to be the worst quality to best quality ( tap water, water filtered at faucet, purified bottled water and ultra high purity water). As expected I saw decreasing readings with 0 for ultra high purity water. I bought this as an intermediate check for water quality at work where I need ultra high purity. It does read 0 testing multiple times. Only complaint while a minor one, range is specified to go from 0 to 9990 ppm for total dissolved solids(TDS) and conductivity. Ultra high purity of 18.2 ohm quality water converts to 0.055 uS/cm reading. Device reads 0.
