Unforeseen Difficulty
This is an expansion pack for the board and dice game Elder Sign (which is one of my favorites). This expansion comes with a ton of new cards (adventures, unique items, common items, spells, allies, other worlds, entrance, monsters, ancient ones and mythos/master mythos). It also comes with cursed and blessed dice, which can really help, or really hurt you. This expansion changes up the came slightly to prove for a more difficult experience. There are 8 new investigators to choose from with cool abilities. The Ancient ones are just as hard, but there is a new set of mythos cards, one that let you choose what bad thing happens that round, or (if master is chosen) extremely difficult circumstances. The expansion cards have a little icon I've their bottom right corner so it is easy to separate from the base deck when putting everything away. There are 4 new entrance cards that replace the base entrance card. These still generally do the same thing, but each card has the ability of getting locked in the middle of a game (the Hospital entrance was locked in my first play through and no one could heal themselves). You can no longer save up to purchase an Elder Sign, but you can get a blessed die. The curssed and blessed die (when added to your roll) can act as an extra die to help you with tasks or remove dice that have the same icon as it from your pool. The adventure cards are new and reap both great benefits and bad penalties. Overall this is an amazing expansion and will bring a new challenge to Elder Sign. The drive addition is cool, the cards are cool, and the new investigators add new strategy. I have polished it with my friends and we have lost, but we ask love a challenge and can't wait to play with it again.

Excellent Expansion!
Elder signs is already a pretty good little card game that moves fast and is easy to pick up. This expansion adds some additional things that are missing from Elder Signs that are already present in other Cthulhu board games (cursed/blessed and etc). This expansion also increases the difficulty of the game (which is a good thing since the game was already pretty easy). Lastly, the expansion adds several new characters, new bosses and all of the other cards. It also breaks up the museum entrance into four different cards, which can be flipped over, effectively closing them, by other effects in the game. I'd say this is a must have for Elder Signs.

An ESSENTIAL Expansion.
This expansion is ESSENTIAL to your Elder Sign gaming experience. This set give you more of the same from the core set, but it ramps up the difficulty and adds blessed and cursed dice...which bring a THRILLING mechanic into the game. I would purchase this expansion with the game for a more complete feel, or I would make it a priority to get this expansion first before any of the rest as the blessed and cursed mechanic transfer very well into all the other expansions.

This expansion adds a ton of replay value to the base game. It gives you more options with new characters, items, and ancient enemies. The new rooms, mythos cards, and monsters increase the difficulty level significantly. Before playing with the expansion we had only lost one game so it was seeming too easy. Since getting the expansion all of the games are pretty close and we have lost several, though we still win far more often than we lose. The biggest change in the expansion is the addition of the blessing and curse. The blessing is very powerful, adding another die to your pool every turn until you lose your blessing. The curse is detrimental, potentially causing you to discard a die every turn, but it is somewhat of a gamble and can be gotten rid of without too much trouble usually. Overall, the expansion makes the game more difficult, fun, and interesting at the same time.

Good expansion
Nice little expansion for Elder Sign. Price was right, liked adding some new cards to the game. It does increase the complexity slightly like most expansions. Recommended

Great game
The game arrived earlier than expected. Safe and in a good quality. The expansion is a MUST for this game. I think it have to be bought together with the core game as I did. It give a lot of new cards, investigators and locations. Plus - new cubes!!! They make the game more interesting and challenging.

Solid expansion
I bought this expansion for my partner, who is the serious gamer in the family. Here is her review: “This is an expansion for the game Elder Sign, a light RPG cooperative dice roller with a 1920s Indiana Jones feel that we've loved for years. The Unseen Forces is a fairly good expansion pack in that it gives you more of what you love, but doesn't change the gameplay significantly. The main additions are more entrance cards (so you can do more to help yourself out if you want to sacrifice your turn) and "Blessed"/"Cursed" dice which either hurt or help your chances of completing tasks. We also fought a new ancient one, but it was pretty much exactly like the base game baddies. A solid entry into the massive world of this game.”

Makes Elder Sign feel like a complete game
I love Elder Sign but when I first played it, it did feel a little incomplete. It just felt a bit too easy and a bit too simple to me. This expansion fixes that problem by adding a new blessed/cursed mechanic and increasing the game's overall difficulty with some new cards. The blessed/cursed mechanic fits into the game extremely naturally, to the point where it feels like it should have been included in the base game. It's a relatively small addition to the game, it's basically just two new dice that you'll roll occasionally, but it goes a long way towards making Elder Sign feel more complete and I can't imagine playing the game without it now. The new cards are all really nice for adding some variety to all of the decks. In general, the new adventure cards and ancient one cards are more challenging than the base game's cards, so playing with this expansion adds a good deal of difficulty to the game, which is something it badly needed. The game no longer feels like an automatic win every time. And if you want, you can further increase the difficulty by adding the new "master" mythos cards to the mythos deck. Overall, I consider this expansion pretty much mandatory for Elder Sign; I can't imagine playing the base game without it.

Sinnvolle Erweiterung

The museum just got better
Lived upto my expetations. Integrates perfectly with the base set and only adds to the eldritch experience. The new entrance cards have got rid of the chance to buy elder sign tokens, incresasing the skill level whilst adding a wonderful new twist with the introduction of the chapel (enabling you to spend tokens on the new blessing feature). New characters, up-dates of several existing cards, new items, monsters and Ancient Ones. The new blessing and curse dice are a great introduction. Overall, a small box packing a great deal of added fun (of nail bitting dread and air punching victory). FFG have produced a very clever expansion with this game. Well worth a purchase.
